“Turn it off, Melissa” My roommate mumbles, while I am hitting my desk trying to turn my alarm off.

So I get up because my first class it’s at 8 am, and right now it’s 7 am, and I haven’t decide what to wear for the day. Thank God it’s Friday thought, I can’t handle any more of this week. Los Angeles has a really weird weather, so it makes it even harder to decide what to wear; I could go out with jeans, sweater and a scarf, but 2 hours later, it’s going to be freaking hot. Hate it.

My name is Melissa Gomez, and yes, I am related to Melany Gomez; she is my big sis. I am 18 years old, and I am currently at my freshman year of college. Since our mother is basically the Devil itself, Melany made a lot of movements and paperwork to sign herself as “my guardian” so I wouldn’t depend on my mother anymore, so Melany is paying for my education and when I am on breaks, I will stay with her. I am so glad I am not with my mom anymore, she treated me like I was her slave.

Today, after school, Melany is picking me up to spend the weekend with her, and I am so excited about it. I haven’t seen her in person since she was 15 and she left; I always see her on the news and on magazines and all that stuff, but not in person.

My first class goes slowly and boring, who cares about History anyways? My teacher, Mr. Rose, is moving his hands a lot, like he wants us to be excited for his class or something like; doesn’t he sees that 75% of the people here is in their phone and the other 25% is sleeping? Poor Mr. Rose… I appreciate the effort thought.

“Ok class, you’re dismissed” Mr. Rose says with a huge smile being proud of the class, I hope he has the same smile when he sees the results of the test.

“Melissa, hold up!” I hear while I am on my way to my second class of the day. It’s my best friend Katie.

“Hey Katie, what’s up?” I say. “So, I’ve heard you are hanging out with the diva today” Katie says. “Who?” I ask with a confused expression, “Well, your sister dumbass” she says while giving me a little push. “Oh yea, she’s not diva thought” I answer. “Yea, you know I’m just kidding… Well, got to go to my English class, see you later?” she says, I nod.

The only good thing about Art class, is there is a few guys that I like to appreciate their existence, and awkwardly smile at them. I have never talk to them thought, but just by staring at them is enough for me.

The end of my classes arrive, and I have my suitcase ready to go; that’s when my phone rings.

“Hello” I answer it. “Melissa! It’s Melany, where are you? I’m parked in front of your dorm”

“Oh sure, I’ll be right there in a minute!” so I grab my suitcase, say good bye to my roommate and I make my way to finally see my sister again.

“Don’t die!” someone screams at me, I turned around and it was Katie screaming from her dorm

“I promise nothing!” I yell back.

I am walking on the parking of the dorm and I see a girl with brunette hair, just like mine, a little taller than me, wearing a cute dark blue skater skirt with a black crop top and some black boots. She is waving at me and runs towards me. I leave my luggage where I am standing and I start running towards her as well, when we reach to each other we hug, and I felt this connection that I haven’t felt for years. This is my sister, the sister that I haven’t seen in years, I almost forgot what having a sister felt like, but having her here with me again, reminds me of it. When the hug ends, she just stares at me for a few seconds, grabs my face and says “Wow, you have grown beautifully”

“Thanks sis, you’re not doing badly yourself” I say.
