Miraculously in Love

Chapter 3

Ladybug/Marinette's Perspective

I land on the roof leading to my bedroom and quietly make my way through the tiny door.

"Spots off," I whisper, and Tikki reappears in my hands. I give her another macaroon and I lay back on my bed, with the beautiful red rose in my fingertips.

I feel the cheek he kissed with my hand, his lips felt as soft as a feather and intense like the ocean.

"Marinette, you told Chat Noir your most personal secret, I'm proud of you for being brave enough to trust him," Tikki says as she hugs my cheek.

"I know, Tikki, but when I told him and saw his face, I felt something different... Never mind, good night!" I say hastily, trying to avoid talking about my feelings even more. I quickly close my eyes but open them to look back at the flower he'd given me while still thinking about the kiss he planted on my cheek. His charm is so infectious.

Chat Noir/Adrien's Perspective

I leap through my window and stick the landing in the middle of my room.

"Claws in," I say as I throw Plagg another piece of cheese. I collapse onto my bed and replay our date at the Eiffel Tower.

"Ew! Look at you Adrien, all lovey-dovey over Ladybug, this is making me hungry. I NEED MORE CHEESE," he exclaims. I'm too deep in thought to pay attention to my kwami. Ladybug is in love with me... the real me!

"This is the best day ever, Plagg!" I say quietly so I don't disturb the rest of the house.

I drift off to sleep so I won't be tired for school tomorrow, still thinking about her rose red cheeks and the smile she tried to hide.

Marinette's Perspective

"Marinette... Marinette! Wake up you're going to be late for school!" a cute little high pitched voice screeches. "Marinette wake up!" my eyes shoot open and I spring out of bed.

"Good morning, Tikki!" I say, feeling better than I did last night. She follows me around as I continue to get ready for school.

"You look happy, Marinette. Does it have to do with yesterday and your date with Chat Noir?" she says with a small smirk on her face.

"AHH WHAT? No of course not!" I admit nervously. She doesn't look convinced. "And don't call it a date, Tikki, it was just as friends..." I blush at the thought of Chat kissing my cheek, but I snap out of my fantasy and continue to get dressed. I look back at the rose on my desk and hold it one last time before I leave. Tikki notices so I shoot her a nervous smile and run downstairs.

"Marinette you know you can tell me what you're thinking. You said it yourself, you trust me with your life," Tikki says, beaming. Her cute voice is irresistible so I tell her what's been on my mind since last night. I kiss my mom and dad goodbye and take a croissant to eat on the way to school.

"Okay, so I have may developed a few feelings for Chat Noir last night... But that doesn't mean I've gotten over Adrien! I don't want to treat Chat like a second choice so for now he doesn't have to know," I take a big bite of my fluffy buttery croissant to save my embarrassment and I see Tikki fly around out of excitement. "Tikki, hide!" I laugh. I finish my croissant and meet my best friend, Alya, outside the school building.

"Hey girl!" Alya exclaims. "How's my best friend in the whole world doing today?"

"Hi Alya!" I run over to hug her. "I slept through my alarm, as usual. Nothing new with me," we both laugh.

"Come on girl, we're going to be late for class!" she grabs my arm and rush to home room. Everyone is in their seats already and I see Adrien in the front row with Nino.

Adrien's Perspective

I wait for class to begin and see Alya and Marinette walk into the classroom. I smile at them but Marinette nervously looks away. As they walk to the row behind my best friend Nino and I, I watch Marinette's mysteriously dark hair and beautiful blue eyes but my thoughts are interrupted by the school bell and Ms. Bustier's saccharine voice.

"Good morning, class!" she says sweetly.

Nino leans over to whisper in my ear. "Dude, were you checking Marinette out?" I look over at him and see him grinning. I feel awkward hearing the question but it was obvious I was looking at her for an unusually long time.

Lately I've noticed that my feelings towards Marinette have changed, she's supposed to just be a friend but I feel different now. I look over at Nino. "Pshh what? No of course not, she's a very good friend!" I say nervously, my best friend doesn't look convinced but he accepts and leans back.

It's no doubt that I may like Marinette, but there's no way she could ever like me back, besides, I'm supposed to be in love with Ladybug... I wouldn't want to treat Marinette like a second choice.

I've been spending time with Kagami to practice fencing but I'd never really date her. Besides, there's Luka. They always spend time together rehearsing for their band and it's no secret that they've grown closer, maybe even developed feelings for each other.

As Adrien I might not know much about love, but Chat Noir sure does! I've seen the sensitive side of Ladybug and as Chat Noir I can be myself with her. If I keep trying, maybe I could really get her to fall in love with me. I feel myself frowning but quickly return to reality and listen to Ms. Bustier's lesson.

Marinette's Perspective

"Please turn to page 49," Ms. Bustier says.

As I flip through my textbook, Alya leans over.

"Adrien was totally staring at you, girl! He definitely likes you," she whispers.

"WHAT? Adrien? Like me? No way Alya, not in a million years!" I whisper back as I shake my head in disapproval. She smirks and raises her eyebrow at me but I shake my head once again. "He always spends time with Kagami, I know he likes her and I'm happy for him." I give Alya a fake smile but deep down it hurts to know Adrien will never like me.

As I flip through my textbook I hear a big bang outside. I jerk my head up to look out the window and see a big flock of pigeons heading towards the Eiffel Tower. I roll my eyes as my head collapses into my hands. Not again!
