Marinette's Perspective

I'm woken up by the sun peeking through my window, so I put my blanket over my head. I soon grow restless and sit up in my bed. I yawn loudly while stretching and see Tikki beginning to wake up as well. The time on my phone reads 9:43 AM. I sigh and get out of bed.

"Time to start the day, Tikki," I say, even though I'm still tired.

"Are you still going to that movie with Adrien?" she asks, and my blood goes cold.

"I... Well- maybe it's not a good idea. He probably doesn't want to be around me, Tikki. I'll text him..." I say softly, and she nods her head.

I grab my phone and think of something to text him. Hey Adrien! Sorry for breaking your heart and telling you I'm in love with another boy, we can still watch a movie as friends right? I cringe at my thoughts but still think of a simple message to type out.

While I'm thinking, I get a text notification from my phone. I look down to see who sent it, and it's from... "ADRIEN?" I yell and throw my phone across the room.

"Marinette, come on! Just see what it says," Tikki says as she flies over to grab my phone off the floor.

I take a deep breath and look at the text.

Adrien: Sorry to cancel, I have... photoshoots today. I forgot. See you on Monday.

I let out a big sigh of relief. "Phew! He was just canceling, I'm ok with that," I say nervously while Tikki stares at me.

Marinette: No worries, see you Monday.

I set my phone down on my desk and head downstairs to have breakfast.

"Good morning, mom! Morning, papa!" I say cheerfully, and they smile at me as I enter the kitchen.

"Good morning, Marinette, how'd you sleep?" my dad asks.

"I slept fine," I reply as I get a bowl from the cupboard and pour myself some cereal.

"Your father and I are going out to a restaurant tonight, you'll be fine here by yourself, right?" my mom asks, and I nod as I pour milk into the bowl.

"Where are you two going, someplace fancy?" I giggle, and they laugh with me.

"To the restaurant at the Grand Hotel, get away from the bakery and have some time to ourselves," my mom says happily while she looks at my dad.

My face forms into a sour expression when they mention the hotel because Chloe's father runs the building, and she can be such a stuck up brat. The expression fades when I hear my parents quietly talk to themselves, it makes me happy that they still go out of their way to do romantic gestures.

I finish my cereal and put the bowl in the sink to wash later.

"I'm going to be upstairs in my room all day finishing homework. I think Alya and Nino are busy, besides, staying inside on a Saturday won't be so bad. Have fun, guys!" I say while walking up the stairs to my bedroom.

Hmm, I'm going to be home all day. Might as well stay in my PJ's!

Adrien's Perspective

I wake up to sun rays passing through my curtains, so I'm forced to open my eyes. I slowly sit up in bed and stretch.

"Good morning, Mr. Love Expert," Plagg snickers as he bites into his cheese.

"Seriously, Plagg? It's too early to be talking about this, and it's most certainly too early to be eating that disgusting cheese, put it away!" I exclaim in disgust.

He chuckles as he finishes his last bite. I reluctantly get out of bed and head to the bathroom. I don't plan on going anywhere, so I remain in my pajamas.

"What's on today's agenda, Adrien?" Plagg asks as he flies into the bathroom.

I spread toothpaste on my toothbrush and give him a blank stare, "Homework."

"So boring! Let's go out today," Plagg suggests.

"Absolutely not, I wanna stay home today. Things obviously go wrong when I listen to you," I tell him, but he continues to insist.

"That was before," he says.

"Uh, before what exactly?"

"Well... before... Hmm," he puts his hand on his chin and tries to come up with an answer.

"Exactly, no way I'm listening to you again. I actually do have homework to do, so don't bring it up again," I respond confidently.

I pray he drops the conversation but he keeps insisting. "Just one more time! You can't give up, Adrien, you love her! I'm not doing it to embarrass you, I want to see you happy," he exclaims.

I think about it for a moment as I walk out my bathroom. I walk over to my desk and sit down, but I don't respond to him. I open my notes and textbook, reading through the boring chapter.

I'm interrupted by a knock on my door and Plagg hides in his cheese cabinet. I walk over and open my door, where Nathalie is standing with her planner in hand.

"Good morning, Adrien. Breakfast?" Nathalie says in a monotone voice.

"Uhh-"

"Your father and I will be attending another charity event being held in London. He's requested that you stay here for the day," Nathalie interrupts me and gently puts her hand on my shoulder, guiding me through my house and into the dining room.

I see my father at one end of the table and my legs turn to jelly when I remember the stern conversation we had yesterday.

"Good morning," my father says in a low tone.

"Good morning, father. Nathalie already told me I'll be staying here," I say as I sit down at the opposite side of the large, sleek table. Nathalie puts a plate of pancakes in front of me, but I'm not even hungry.

"Yes, I won't be back until later tonight. I trust you here by yourself. We must be getting ready." My father stands up and walks out of the dining room, leaving me by myself.

I stare blankly at my breakfast, and eventually take a small bite. The taste is bland and I immediately lose my appetite so I push the plate away and walk back to my room.

"Back so soon?" Plagg jokes, and I roll my eyes at him.

"My father is going to be gone all day, they're going to London," I explain.

"Sneaking out will be a piece of cake," he says while rubbing his hands together mysteriously.

"Come on, Plagg. Can't we have a day off? You get to eat all the cheese in the world!" I try to convince him.

He raises his eyebrow at me. "First I was the one begging you to stay home and now you're the one begging me! Look at how the tables have turned. You can't convince me with cheese! I'll bother you all day until you agree!"

I roll my eyes in annoyance and make my way back to my desk, plopping down in my chair.
