Aftermath, speeches and goodbye

We all went through the war scene looking for abandoned weapons that we could use. We found Gustav crying over a dragon. It was Fanghook. Gustav stood up, looked at us and went over to Andra. "He pushed several enemies over the cliffs. It took more than twenty of them to get to him through the flames. He ran out of firepower." Gustav cried. Andra picked him up and gave him a big hug.

"Look at me. Fanghook was a great hero. And he was lucky to have you as a rider. We shall try to bring him back but we will need more than twenty firecombs, a fireworm queen, and two night furies. Thankfully, we have most of those. We will have to talk to the queen first." She explained as calmly as she could. I could tell that Andra was also tearing up. She walked over to the fireworm queen that Leo was riding a couple weeks ago. She walked back over to us. "The queen has decided to help and let us use the firecombs." We grabbed the ingredients and put them in a pile. She handed a piece of paper of to Fishlegs. "I found this in a cave on our island. I can't read it. I could only read the title and I looked at the pictures." Fishlegs picked it up and started reading quickly.

"It says, 'to bring a dragon back to life, you will need, a male and female nightfury, twenty four firecombs, a fireworm queen." He read out the instructions. "Here it says that one of the night furies will lose The ability to fly on its own. Which nightfury is willing to take that chance?" Fishlegs asked. Toothless growled and attempted to smash his new tail. Andra walked over to Toothless.

"Are you sure?" He growled again. "I guess we can't stop you." She started to tear up again. "Toothless is willing to take that risk. He said that he has had to rely on help for flying for the past five years, he is used to it." Mouthful and Toothless walked over to Fanghook. The queen bit him and forced comb to go down his throat. The night furies swished their tails in sync. They both did a strange roar. Toothless' tail was glowing brightly. We could see colour come back into Fanghook. Toothless' left half of his tail was gone again. Fanghook finally stood up and lit himself on fire. We all gave him a hug. Gustav jumped on Fanghook and they went for a fly around the island. We all walked back to the great hall for a victory feast.

We reached the hall and saw Hildegard playing with the skrill we allowed to live earlier. I found myself walking over to them. "I see you found a dragon, Hildegard." She looked up at me.

"Yes, sir. I have." I smiled.

"Well, take good care of this dragon. It is a brave dragon, must be just like you. What is his name?"

"I want to call him Shocker."

"A perfect name. Let's see if he likes it." He nodded his head. "See you later." I smiled at her and she smiled back. I waved and left. Astrid gave me a punch in the arm. "What?!"

"I didn't know how good you were with kids."

"Neither did I. Let's go get some food."

After we ate I was asked to say a speech. I was pushed up to the front by Astrid and Andra. Andra had her wings out in full length and took up quite a lot of space. "Now, I know we haven't had a war with the berserkers until Dagur the deranged took over and I told him that we train, not kill. Since then, Dagur has been wanting his revenge. He tried to capture Toothless, land on Berk shores to create war, and bargain for the screaming death. But now, we were actually in a fight. And we won. We all might be different, be shorter, not as buff, a bit rounded, or raised up completely different, but when we work together as a village, we can do the impossible. Now I invite Andra Haddock up for a speech." Her mouth dropped. She came up to the stage. She stood on the platform.

"Hello, I am Andra and I think I speak for all the dragons when I say thank you for fighting for our freedom. We will not obey the alpha but we will work alongside him. I think that Hiccup was right when he said, several years ago, that dragons are not dangerous, just misunderstood. I was there that time and I remember it loud and clear. That was the last time I had ever heard a human, other than Gustav, until a few weeks ago. I believe that the dragons were accepted after Toothless was the first Berkian dragon to be trained. I found it hard to believe that people change that easily but you have proved me wrong. When Dagur had me trapped in the cell with two others, I knew that I had to get them out. Even if it meant my freedom. You, Vikings, were willing to die to save the dragons. I thank you all for not putting yourself first. I think that for many of the dragons, I definitely know for me, this will be our new home or second home." She got an around of applause and a bunch of roars. She came back and sat down next to us. Nico put his arm around her.

"You do realise that I have to go back?"

"Yeah, I do. But I will send a terrible terror with a message each day. You reply by writing a note and attach it to its leg and tell it where to go. You will visit at some point, right?" Andra asked.

"Yeah, in the winter." Nico replied. Their relationship was nice. I wonder if me and Astrid look like that.

Today we were supposed to say goodbye to Nico until winter. Andra was there tearing up and hugging him. Gustav was there, telling him that when he gets here, he better treat Andra nicely. He gave everyone hugs and handshakes. When he got to me, I had something to say to him. "Nico, thank you for helping bring my cousin back. But, treat her wrong and me, Toothless, Mouthful and all her dragon friends and Gustav will snap you like a twig." We shook each others hands. Mouthful lit up the wood and Andra gave him some branches. He jumped through the portal after waving good bye.

I was watching the sunset from the cliff where mouthful fell off. Astrid came up and sat beside me. Astrid leaned on me. Something was bothering her. "What is it, milady?"

"It's just that I hope we never get separated. It would be horrible to be too far away for too long."

"I promise that if we get separated, against our will, I will spend the rest of my life searching for you."

"So do I." We stayed there watching the sunset.

*hey. I can't believe no one has thought of doing a Percy Jackson/httyd crossover before. Do you want me to do a sequel? First to reply gets a dedication on the chapter they want it on.*
