Skylar's POV

Not long after her brother (Finnick) won the 65th Hunger Games her parents died whilst out fishing on a boat in the ocean, inside district 4. It burst into flames no ones knows why this occurred but it did. Her other older siblings Melissa and Noah were both reaped into the 54th Hunger Games together. The were the only remaining tributes at the end Noah gave his life so that his sister could come back to his younger sister (Skylar) but when she came out she was never the same after about a year and 2 months she died.

This left only Finnick to look after Skylar, but thankfully he grew really close to his mentor who won the 13th Hunger Games (Mags) she became like the mother figure both siblings needed.

That brings us up to now. I am 13 nearly 14  sitting on the the docks finishing a knot to the fishing net I was making to help the people fishing. This was until I had to go home to get ready for the reaping. For the reaping I wore a normal white polo shirt and a light  blue skirt that went just above my knees. Once dressed I putting my hair into two french plaits. Just as I  was about to head out the door her brother along with Mags and Annie (a sister like figure who is also in love with her brother) came through the door to wish me luck.

After we all said goodbye we all walked out the door to be met with a lot of people who were all between the ages of 12-18 heading to the reaping I took off in the same direction as all the children while my brother and the others all went the other way to go where all the mentors go.

We all had to get into lines I joined a short line and once to the front they pricked my finger and put it on the paper. Then I went off to where all the 13 year olds were lined up.

Not long after everyone was in their age groups Brigit (our person from the capital) came up to the mic tapping it three times to grab everyone's attention. She played a video that was all about why we had the Hunger Games it was all to do with a rebellion on the capital.

Once finished Brigit turned back to us and said:

"Well wasn't that just brilliant" she looked at us only to see the blank expressions on everyone's face.

After this she turned to the two bowls full of names lucky for me my name was only in twice. She turned to do 'Ladies first'. She put her hand into the bowl and pulled out a piece of paper and slowly walked back to the mic before opening it and saying the name into the mic.

"This years female tribute is..... Skylar Odair" whilst saying my name she seemed to sound sad.

At the sound of my name everyone around me turned to me. I looked up only to have my legs carry me to the place I wished to never end up at the stage. I slowly walked up the stairs with a single tear falling down my cheek.
