The Reaping: Part 2

Skylar's POV

As I stared out at the crowd ahead of me I blanked out until I heard Brigit say:

"Well shake hands"

So I did as I was told and turned to shake the person next to me's hand only to find out that they looked as though they were around 17. Which I found very intimidating. 

*time skip to the train*

Once I stepped onto the train I went in only to be crushed into a huge hug note only by Finnick but Annie and Mags also joined the hug. This was until I commented that I couldn't breathe they all took a step back. This was until I spoke up. And tied to lighten the mood.

"So any life saving tips oh great mentors."

We all burst out laughing. This was until Finnick spoke up.

"Stay alive"

I just nodded unable to speak because I June's that if I opened my mouth I would just start to breakdown. All I could think of was 'what if I don't make it? What would Finnick do if I died?' 

Seeing me in a train of thought the boy behind me decided to clear his throat. This brought me straight out of my train of thought. That was when I saw who it was this boy was the son of one of the doctors for our district. Which meant most likely he knew how to use bandages and medicine which could come in handy. This lead me to think what am I good at? Well thanks to Finnick i can use  trident like him and I taught myself how to use a bow and arrow I can also use throwing knives and normal knives and a sword.

This was when the train started to move at first it jolted which made me loose my balance but I caught  myself and then steadied myself. Then we started to go into this huge compartment which had a Tv and a sofa which I practically jumped on. Then I heard Finnick chuckling at my childishness. Then he came and joined me on the sofa then I started to look around the compartment from where I was and saw a huge glass chandelier hanging over a mahogany table with all sorts of food you could imagine. Annie Mags and the boy came and sat at seat each except Annie who sat next to Finnick. Who at that point was turning on the Tv. 

"Lets see who your competition is shall we?" Annie asked taking the remote from Finnick with a smirk. As he started pouting like a child this caused me to laugh. 

*time skip to after the train ride*

As the train started to slow down I looked out the window to see so many people dressed in over the top outfits with extravagant hairstyles. This reminded me of how Brigit dressed. 

Everyone saw me and started to smile and wave which made me smile and wave back. Finnick called me as the train came to a stop. I found him by the door that lead of the train. The door opened and Finnick left the train I was hesitant but I took a step off the train too. 

I saw some of the other tribute but not many of them. We went to the elevator and someone pressed the button that had 'District 4' written on it. The elevator started to move upwards then stopped suddenly and the doors opened to reveal a room similar to the compartment in the train except it was bigger and was painted on the wall which kinda reminded me of the ocean. I stepped out and took in the room. There was a complete kitchen and dinning room both connected together by a doorway I couldn't quite see what the kitchen looked like but from what I could see black marble tops and mahogany cupboards. The dinning room had a mahogany table and matching table. 'What is it with people and mahogany' I though to myself. Through a large doorway was the living room there was a fireplace with a fire currently burning and a massive Tv above it and a white large sofa and some other armchairs all facing the screen. There was a hallway which I'm guessing leads to the bedrooms.

"Both of you should get some rest for tomorrow when we will start training we will train you both together but one of you will work with me and the other with Finnick." Annie said as she shooed us off towards the hallway. 

The first door had a sign next to it saying Adam which I'm guessing was what the other guy was called. The nest room had a sign with my name on it I opened the door as my jaw dropped the room had a sea blue carpet at the end of a queen sized bed with sea green cover and pillows. There was a cabinet which was where all the clothes were so I went into the bathroom after making sure both doors were locked I stripped down and stepped into the shower and let the warm water flow down my body. I washed my hair. Then stepped out and turned of the water and wrapped a towel around my body and one around my hair. I went to the wardrobe and picked out a plain light blue shirt and some shorts. But on the short in black was written 'Don't wake me up unless there's a good reason.'

After that I went to bed.
