✨FINAL CHAPTER✨
I stood in my dorm looking at the empty walls absent of photos and poster that had been there since I was 11.
It was bittersweet to think I'd never stand here again."Hey man you okay?" Owen said as he appeared at my door. I nodded him into the room and he sat himself down on the bed.
"When's your train?" I asked him.
"In half hour same as the boys, what about you?" He asked me.
"Not till 3pm" I said looking over at my best mate, for a moment I saw the 11 year old kid with messy blonde hair and not the 18 year old he was now.
"Why so late?" He said curiously. It was a good question I'll give him that.
"I got a few things I gotta do before I leave here." Is all I said but it was enough for him to understand.
"I'm sorry things got so fucked up this year" he said sincerely. I couldn't help but smile at him.
"You're cool Owen I wasn't exactly here this year." I said laughing softly putting my arm around his shoulder for a few seconds.
"Did she ever call you back? Owen said softening his voice abit.
"No, where ever she is she's in no rush to talk to me." My voice carefully void of emotion.
"If it's any consolation, which I doubt it will be, but she's freezing everyone out." He said holding up his phone.
I was confused for a second till I saw 43 unanswered calls to Lira, 100s of unanswered texts.
"You've been trying to talk to her?" I asked not expecting him to do it.
He just nodded."We all have, I saw Finn and Jamie yesterday. She won't pick up any of their calls or texts either" he said looking at his watch.
"I gotta go mate I'll miss my train." He said standing up from the bed.
"Max, if you do find her. And I hope you do, tell her I'm sorry." And with that he was gone.
And my room was empty.I laid back on my bed hands covering my face, unsure of what to do now. Her friends hadn't seen her no one has.
I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out the photo of Lira in the city gardens and wondered where she could be.
I shut my eyes welcoming the darkness of sleep.
When i opened my eyes it was 2pm, only an hour till my train. I picked up my bag and board and left my room for the last time. Stopping and looking back before I left it for good.
I skated down the back roads until I came to the foot of the carpark. One last time. I thought before climbing the stairs. The familiar sound of Jamie's immortal speaker coming from the top floor brought a sense of comfort.
"Hey guys, it's been awhile" I said to the group sat on the floor.
Their conversation stopped as soon as they heard me.
"Max hey it's good to see you." Finn said looking at me sympathetically. As my eyes scanned he group to find she wasn't there.
My eyes flicked towards the roof but Sara just shook her head gently.
"What's with the bags?" Emma asked. All of their eyes left my face and went down to my feet.
"Yeah what is with the bags?" Lily who I didn't even see at first said, her hand holding onto Kits who wouldn't meet my gaze.
