Once upon a time there was a girl and a boy, both young and reckless at their ownway and both unaware of what the future held for them. Never would they havethought that their paths would cross, and never would they have guessed thatthey were meant to meet.
Sometime between now and then, they were aware of the risk of them being together, but that risk seemed to only pull them closer together. Believe it or not they expressed their love through hate. That hate made them unsure of their feelings towards each other, but deep down everyone noticed their connection... Except for them.
Their families warned them, their friends did, too. But it was useless... The longer they were apart, the longer they wanted to stay together. Until they did. Everyone just assumed it was another rebellion act that would give them the joy of danger for a moment and would then end, as usually. But this time was different.
We know nothing about them. Their names? Ron and Beth. Their stories divided by a certain social standard; they could not be seen together without constant judgments. Luckily, they were smart enough not to care.
This is a cliché, maybe just as Romeo and Juliet, with their drastic end, but comparing stories only made those other stories seem less important. That is not the case. Every story, written or not, is unique and deserves to be lived.
Throughout time, people seemed to get more understanding, or at least they kept their judgments to themselves. Maybe that is what made us so insecure. Not knowing what people think of us made us think there might be something wrong with us, but Ron and Beth never cared.
On their first date, they promised to always remain together, craving their names on a tree, thinking of a promising future together. But then what? Running away would be hard and they liked it there. They just had a lot to change in their community. Little did they know that a revolution was coming their way.
Beth, the rich one, was promised to another, and to confront her parents was something she never thought she could do. Until she did. With Rob, a simple man from another neighborhood, they confessed their love to her parents and swore they would fight for their love no matter what. Of course, her parents tried to bribe him, but his heart was in the right place, and so was his head, as he decided to prove his love to everyone who doubted it.
"Maybe it started as an act of rebellion" he said, "but I never thought that defying my family would end up being the best bad choice I made!" "Don't get me wrong. Every mistake leads to something greater and mine was finding true love."
Probably this sounds a little too unrealistic, but it makes sense if you think about it. What makes us think about an ideal love? What makes us want to love someone; to find our happily ever after? All love stories. No matter what the ending is like, the journey is what awakens us. And maybe we are just not enjoying the journey because we are too preoccupied about the ending but let me tell you something. Being scared is what makes us human, however fearing to be human is what makes it unreal.
Maybe Ron and Beth would never be together if they'd followed the rules, but come to think about it, they didn't like each other when they met, so perhaps they were bound to be together, no matter what. Destiny makes no mistakes and that invisible rope tying them together would have dragged them together no matter how many knots were in between. That is the thing about love. It is unpredictable. Sometimes we feel like letting it go, but little do we know that true love cannot be pushed away.
Ron and Beth found that out on their own. So did every other couple. And so will you, eventually. Ron and Beth might have started a revolution for us, but worldwide someone else was, too. Ron and Beth got married, their parents accepted them after a while of disbelief, thinking it was a ridiculous way to go against them. But they understood in time, that they would never be separated.
A while later they had their first child, their beloved Lauren. Honestly, I am curious about how her love life will end up like, but then again, I am the writer so I should know that... But I do not. Her story is not a fiction that I can come up with. She must grow up and find it out herself. Because that is just how love works. That is how it worked for Ron and Beth years ago and anyone who believes otherwise should think it over, because love cannot be planned.
Love comes whenever it is ready...
Whenever you are ready.
And you better be ready because love makes no mistakes...
