Dancing in the Dark

WooHoo! Two updates in one day! What am i doing?

The music for their studio jam sessions was something Julie prided herself with. Whether they were dancing along to Taylor Swift or belting out the words to any Broadway musical, she always made sure that at least one of the boys got up and danced to the song. 

(It didn't matter that she probably wanted to dance with Luke. It was purely coincidental if that was the case...)

The song that came on next was Ed Sheeran's Perfect, one of her favorite songs on her playlist. 

It was a slow but sweet song, and she has tried many times to convince people it is his best song. 

While she hummed to the final notes as it came to a close, she turned around to see a confused and quizzical look on Luke's face.

"What is it? Is something wrong?"

"What was that song called?" Luke asked.

"Perfect by Ed Sheeran. It's pretty, isn't it?"

"Yeah," he breathed out. "Do you mind if you played it again? It gave me some inspiration."

"Not at all," she answered before hitting replay on her phone. She was glad to see someone finally have good taste in music. (Not that they didn't have good taste in music it's just...Luke agreed with her)

She continued to dance around the room before she finally came to a stop before Luke, practically bumping into him. He had his hand outstretched to her, and after a quick survey of the room, she couldn't see Alex or Reggie.

Dammit. They must have left.

"May I have this dance?" 

She practically just stared at him before letting out a simple yes as he led them to the center of the room. She noticed with a start the opening notes began to play again as Luke placed a hand behind her back.

"You okay?" He asked, his eyebrow raised in concern.

"I-I'm fine," she finally managed to say. 

With her confirmation, he slipped his hand into hers and began leading her around the room.

Luke twirled her around the room, careful not to step on her toes. She seemed to fit perfectly in his arms, and he never wanted to let go...

Julie didn't know if she was dreaming. The music seemed to fade into the background as she stared into Luke's eyes. She had never seen them so bright and full. She wondered what would happen if she just inched closer...

Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song

When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight

They continued to waltz around the studio, falling in and out of each other's arms, afraid to blink or miss a step like it might cause one of them to fade away. It felt like a dream, their hands glued together as they began to move closer and closer...

As the final chord rang throughout the studio, Julie placed her lips on Luke's as his hand curled around her neck. She could have sworn fireworks exploded as they slowed to a stop in the middle of the room.

She couldn't have picked a better playlist.
