Jennie POV
I took a deep breath before continuing.
"Let me start from the beginning," I said. "It starts before I debuted. In 2012."
Flashback (Jennie's Narration"
I was walking alone on the trails of the Han River. I had just finished classes at YG, and asked someone to take me down to Han. I loved being here after class to relax from all the stress. I had been training for a few years now, and I was so tired of everything, the classes, the rules. I was reading a book and walking, when I bumped into a guy.
My book fell, and his car keys fell. I reached to pick them up, and our hands touched. We both felt an electric shock up our arms. I looked up at his face, and he smiled at me. It was a genuine smile, one that made my insides mushy. I picked up my book and handed him his keys. He looked about my age, and I was somewhat shocked he could drive.
"Aww that's like a k-drama scene!" He gushed.
I smiled, "Yes, like that."
I said sorry, when suddenly he blurted,
"You're hot"
My cheeks heated up. I mean he was hot, too. Then, he asked me a question. Straight up.
"What's your name, age, and can I have your number?"
I was in shock in that moment. I hadn't had a boyfriend before, and YG didn't allow dating. Should I go behind YG's back? I decided yes.
"Hi, my name is-" I couldn't say my real name just in case anyone found out. I didn't know this person, and I was still a trainee with a possibility of making it in a big girl group. For all I know, this guy could be a saesang.
"My name is Sara Kim, from New Zealand. I live here now with my parents and my number is *** *** ****!" I lied, but gave him my real phone number.
"Please just text me, because my parent's are really strict" I said, actually referring to YG staff.
He looked shocked that I gave my number on first try, but he introduced himself.
"Hi, my name is Kim Tae-hwan but my friends just call me X." Little did I know, he lied, too.
"So you both lied. Did you ever tell him you were a trainee?" Bobby asked.
"No."
We texted back and forth and met again many times. Then, on September 8, 2012, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I was ecstatic and of course, said yes. He was a good boyfriend, and he kissed me and showered me with gifts. However, we couldn't meet as often after that, not because of my training, but because he had some "project". He told me about it, how he had dance practice for something that would terminate in June. Gullible me didn't realize that he could also be a trainee.
"But..." I trailed off.
"But what?"
I fell in love. I fell in love with a guy who I met in a park. Who I've known for a few months. And I planned to say in to him, on his birthday in December.
Time went by until the day before New Years. His birthday. We met up at the usual park in a picnic, with no one knowing. I should have realized something was amiss, because he looked annoyed and unusual that day.
"What?" He asked annoyingly.
I didn't take notice of it. "Hwanie," I used my nickname for him. "I want to tell you something."
