Leah's POV
When I finally woke up, I noticed that most of the pack members had gone home. The sun was high in the sky so it had to be at least 10:00 in the morning. The only pack members that stayed were Uncle Peter and Malia.
"Ahh Oww, I am never sleeping on the floor ever again!" I exclaimed while trying to sit up. My back and neck were severely protesting to the movement. It made me feel like I'm 60 years old when I'm only 18. The good thing was that I was able to get off the floor.
Uncle Peter was already awake when he saw my desperate attempt to get up off the floor, I tried to save some of my dignity but that didn't work in the slightest. I heard a chuckle come from his lips and simply glared at him, I can't believe that my own Uncle would laugh at me while I'm in pain.
"How are you not stiff and sore Uncle Peter? You slept on the floor too, I even used you as a human pillow for most of the night." I asked him. He looked at me with a smile gracing his lips.
"I've been up for a while now little one, so I have had time to get used to be off the floor. Here let me help you get into a upright position." He said while walking over. He cleared the room in a few strides and extended out his hand. I took it and he pulled me to my feet. "Oww!! This hurts!" I said while trying, and failing to stand up straight. My outburst must have been louder than I thought because out of the blue Dad appeared out of nowhere.
"Leah, are you okay honey?" He asked while coming closer. I could read the concern written on his face and in his eyes. Dad sucks at being able to hide his emotions especially from me.
"Yeah I think so, it's just my back and neck are protesting from spending the night sleeping on the floor. I think I'll be okay, just give me a couple of minutes to adjust." I reassured him, I could tell that he was really worried, but I think it was simply the over protectiveness kicking in. To dad, I will always be his little girl, no matter how old I am.
As my body started to get used to being off the floor, my back finally started to cooperate and I could stand up properly without any painful back cramps, same with my neck too. As soon as I was able to lift my head up, I could smell something starting to burn in the kitchen. It smelled like burnt bacon but I wasn't so sure.
"Umm dad, I think the bacon you're cooking is starting to burn." I said while looking at him. He cursed and ran back into the kitchen trying to "save" the already burnt bacon.
I followed him into the kitchen and simply laughed as he started literally talking to the food. I know he heard me because next thing that I know dad is glaring at me with daggers in his eyes as he's trying to salvage the rest of the bacon that wasn't too badly burnt. He had to throw some out, because it was basically charcoal, but some wasn't too bad.
The more that I laughed at the sight, the madder he seemed to get. I even got Uncle Peter to laugh, but that didn't last long, one look from dad and he stopped laughing almost instantly. I didn't though, it wasn't like I meant to keep laughing, I just couldn't help myself. Dad got so mad that I thought steam was going to come out of his ears and that the vein in the side of his neck was going to explode.
"Hahahaha! I'm sorry dad but that was just too funny, even Uncle Peter laughed, it's not my fault that you started talking to the food as if it could listen to you." I said while finally getting the laughter under control. He didn't say anything to me and stopped glaring at me as he turned away. I went up to him and hugged him from behind, fully knowing that I would be forgiven.
"I'm sorry dad but come on. It was super funny, even you have to admit that." I said to him while still hugging him. He turned around and gave me a proper hug.
