Adam dodged out of the way of Jaune's wide swing before retaliating with a quick strike to his side faster than the eye could see. Jaune staggered backwards before looking into Adam's calm blue eyes

They were almost provoking Jaune, testing him for any cracks. Looking for anything to prove Jaune was worth his time. For a second, Jaune almost broke, but regained his calmness before he gave into the anger that lingered. So, Jaune stood up, put the shield in front of him, and waited for Adam to come to him

Adam scoffed at the motion. Not a second later, the sound of metal rang out across their battlefield as Wilt hit the surface of Crocea Mors'. Jaune pushed Adam's blade away with the shield and went to push Adam away with the sword. Adam quickly deflected the blade to the side with Blush before jumping backward and sheathing Wilt

Jaune kept the shield in front of him as, against someone like Adam, that was his best chance at winning. Adam took his hand off of Wilt's handle and started walking around Jaune. Jaune rotated so Adam wouldn't get a free shot on his back and soon joined Adam in walking around in a circle

In the background, Oscar watched the fight with wide eyes. After all, Jaune and Adam were some of the best fighters in Beacon Academy with Adam being able to force Pyrrha, the Invincible Girl, into a stalemate and nearly win in one case. Meanwhile, Jaune had been an amateur, if you could even call him that. However, Jaune quickly started picking up in fighting skill when his training with Pyrrha and Adam started

Training that had continued to this very day, it would seem. And, as a result, Jaune's fighting style grew more similar to Adam's. Jaune wasn't sheathing his sword after every combo, of course, because that wasn't efficient with the type of sword he had. But, Jaune was getting more careful and studying his surroundings and enemies before using that to his advantage, like Adam does. On the other hand, when Jaune does attack, it changed from being attacks that would flow smoothly into each other to a style that was aggressive and didn't give his opponent much room to breath. His attacks still did flow smoothly into one another, but it didn't exactly have as much grace as Pyrrha had

The screeching sound of metal on metal rang out again as Jaune ran forward and swung at Adam, who'd deflected his blade to side. Adam went strike Jaune's side, but was quickly interrupted by a shield to the face as Jaune bashed his shield against Adam's face. Adam stumbled backward, allowing Jaune to strike Adam with Crocea Mors

Adam staggered even further. Jaune took the opportunity and smacked Wilt & Blush out of his hands. Adam felt Wilt & Blush leave his hands, but by the time he reacted on it, he was already swept from his feet with the tip of a sword pointed at his throat. Adam looked up to see Jaune, panting and exhausted, staring at him

"Give up."

The command was simple, but implied things that Adam would not adhere to. So, Adam did what he always did. He looked around for any means of winning or at the very least getting out of this situation. Adam's eyes came across Jaune's legs, which currently sat unbalanced, and, without hesitation, swept Jaune off of his feet before rolling and grabbing Wilt & Blush

Adam got back into his stance and rushed towards Jaune, who had also gotten back on his feet. Adam fired Wilt out of Blush. Wilt hit Jaune right in the face before he had time to react, breaking his guard. Adam grabbed Wilt and struck Jaune twice in rapid succession, once in a downward slash before swinging back up again. Adam turned with the momentum and gave Jaune a powerful strike infused with his semblance to his chest causing him to go flying backward

Jaune slid across the ground before finally stopping a few feet away from Adam, groaning. Adam sheathed Wilt, panting as he did so from the exhaustion of the training session catching up to him, before clipping his weapon to his hip and walking over to Jaune
