She woke up groggily, looking over at the clock that read noon. She yawned, stretching her arms up and removing her hand from the head of hair that it was placed on. A gentle smile appeared on her face as she looked down at Griffin who had fallen asleep on her chest.
If only they could stay like this forever. Nothing to worry about. No constant danger. But Avery knew she couldn't stay like this for much longer. The room was beginning to smell of blood and Avery had to tend to his wounds. She nudged him gently with her arm, attempting to wake him.
He didn't wake. "Griffinnn, wake upppp." She whispered now shaking him more vigorously. Griffin groaned in response before he positioned to sit up.
"You need to go shower. The whole place reeks of blood... There's a bathroom just over there." She motioned to it as she began to get out of bed.
He scoffed in return. "I don't stink. But I guess I will shower." Griffin stepped out of the bed and stood up to stretch. Next he made his way to the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
Avery let out a sigh as she sunk back down into the bed, staring aimlessly at the ceiling. What had she done now. Catching feelings during a time like this was one thing. But catching feelings for the leaders boyfriend? It was all a mess that she was now stuck in.
I mean, maybe, she could pretend she didn't have feelings for him and then they would just disappear?
After she changed into a new pair of clothes she had to enter the bathroom to brush her teeth. She turned the knob slowly and entered the bathroom as he continued to shower. She was already blushing. But the entire time, not a word was shared. The two stayed silent until she left.
Whence Avery exited the bathroom she began to make her way down the hallway. She bumped into someone halfway down. As she looked up her gaze was met with Eleni's, Avery began to apologize right away.
She was greeted with a smile. "Ah, just the person I was looking for."
Avery tilted her head slightly, confused. "Hm, what do you need?"
"Have you seen Griffin yet today? He didn't come sleep with me last night." The guilt immediately set in. And Eleni for once did not look like she had everything in check. Her hair had been messed up and her dress had been wrinkled slightly.
"Oh yea.. he actually came to my room last night. Don't worry though he's safe." She tried to replace her fear with a smile but it failed.
"Why did he come to you?" Eleni questioned, very confused.
"Um well." Avery paused for a second, still unsure on the best way to answer. "He came to me covered in blood and scratches. He told me he didn't want to worry you, so he came to me instead. And then he was exhausted so he ended up just crashing in my room for the night."
"Oh. Mkay." Eleni replied in obvious discomfort. But before the two would set into an awkward silence, Griffin stepped out of Avery's room.
Avery shot him an awkward look. "I was just telling Eleni how you came in last night and almost passed out from exhaustion.."
Griffin nodded slightly and he seemed to understand at what she was getting at. "I'm sorry Eleni. I meant to come see you, but I was just so tired.
Griffin stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Eleni. The two sunk into a hug. Avery didn't mind much this time though. She noticed Griffin had put on one of her hoodies. But within milliseconds Eleni shrugged him off. Griffin pulled away from her frowning.
"Since the two of you are here. I have some news." Eleni said causing Avery and Griffin to glance at each other.
"I've got a mission for you two and Josi to go on back in New York City. There's a meeting being held by the director of the tests. Rumors got it that the tests are become more strict. You guys need to find out who is creating them."
