Avery had been allowed to leave her bed three days later. Griffin gently held his arm around her waist as they walked down the hall towards the person she wanted to see.
Two visitors had already been in Josi's room, Sophia and Katie. One of her legs had been propped up by a pillow and bandages were wrapped around her arms and waist. When she looked up and saw the two she began to smile.
"Avery! You're back and moving around again!" Josi continued to smile as Avery leaned over to hug her. After a few minutes she pulled away gingerly taking a seat next to Sophia.
"Your speech caused an outbreak. Like seriously people have began to riot. Not even the government can control it." Josi said, causing Avery to raise her eyebrows.
"Maybe the government will recall their soldiers?" Avery questioned, Griffin shook his head no. "The president is too power hungry to stop now."
Avery nodded in reply, crossing her arms.
She thought back to when she first questioned the president's motives. President Malice. Even the name itself made her shiver. She had been the president for several years now, but still at a young age Avery could already see her failing.
-- ya the pres mentioned in chapt 1? i gave her a name. it sucks but its all that came to mind?--
She had asked her mother why someone at her level of stupidity had become president. That night she had been scolded and warned to never say anything like that out loud again.
If only she could see her mother now.
"We're safe here right? They can't reach us here?" Avery asked.
"I can guarantee it. Since we've relocated they won't know where we are." Griffin replied, looking over at her.
But Nate's words still haunted her. "It'll be no mans land, if it isn't already."

Avery sat facing the window. She stared at the moon that shined a gentle blue light through the window. Her mind had been all foggy. The only thing that seemed to stand out were Nate's words.
Some feeling deep down in her gut told her something was wrong. Something bad was bound to happen. Her thoughts yelled at her to run but she didn't want to. This was making it impossible for her to fall asleep.
A knock at the door spurred her attention. "It's open."
Griffin opened the door and closed it softly, leaning against the wall near the door. "It's very late, what are you doing up still?"
"Your knock woke me up, I could've been asleep."
"That's a lie. You turn off the fan when your about to fall asleep. Didn't hear it this time." Griffin walked and laid in bed beside her.
He took of his new hat and tossed it aside. Griffin could do this and infinite amount of times and she still wouldn't get used to his face. It was breathtaking.
He propped himself up on one of his elbows. 'What's wrong? You look lost in thought."
She sighed softly murmuring, "I'm just worried, I guess."
"Why? I'm sure nothing bad will happen, and if anything does I'll be here to protect you." He smiled softly, moving a few stands of hair away from her eyes.
She sighed again, shaking her head. "You don't have to protect me all the time, Griffin. You've got a revolution to run. That's far more important than me-"
Griffin cut her off. "I'd drop anything for you." He did not just say that. Holy shit.
"Alright, lets not get ahead of ourselves."
