-i have the fuckign hiccups. anyway idek. hopefully u remember whats going on-
Avery had been pulling through each night little by little. Even though she seemed to be just holding on. Katie, Josi and Sophia all took turns visiting her each night.
There was always someone at her side. Except for the person everyone expected to be visiting her the most. He hadn't returned since he first saw her through the door way. He hadn't returned for her or anyone else, this past week.
Griffin sat in the passengers seat of Nora's car, his feet propped up on the dashboard as she drove alongside him.
"So, where are your men? Do they plan to meet us there or something?" Nora asked, glancing over at him.
"No, it's just me."
Nora slammed on the brakes, causing Griffin to slam forward. "What the fuck. What do you mean it's just you?!" She placed her arm on the steering wheel and twisted her body to face him. "You're joking right? You know how dangerous that is. None the less it won't work. I hope you realize we're dealing with the president. She isn't going to have on one guard. God, you're stupid." She rested her face on her arms, sighing.
"Well will you drive me there or not? I'll gladly walk if I have to."
"Fine."
"Uh- wait. Can we make a quick stop first? Home." He muttered.
She rubbed her eyes with one of her hands.
"I'll make it quick."
"Oh my god. Next thing I know you'll be asking to stop for fucking food on the way there. You better be quick." She made a quick u-turn and sped off again.
Nora pulled up to the building, hitting the curb on the way to her stop. Griffin gave her a small nod before he left the car.

Josi glanced over at the knock on the door as she just finished sending a text to Griffin, that would probably go unanswered again.
"It open." She muttered through her yawn. Her fatigue turned into surprise as she noticed who was on the other side of the door. "Griffin?!"
-jesus christ ive yawned a million times already in the past 30 seconds--
He stood blankly as the other practically jumped into his arms.
"What the hell. Where have you been?" She asked after she pulled away from hugging him.
"Sorry, I don't have time for all of this right now. I just stopped by to say goodbye.." He mumbled, her smile quickly fading.
"Hm?"
"You won't be seeing me again after this. But I just wanted to thank you one last time. Thank you for being my best friend."
"Griff-" He hushed her quickly and continued the goodbyes.
"I need you to tell Sophia and Katie they mean the world to me as well. I have to do this. For Avery."
She began to frown, her eyebrows pushing together. He was headed on a suicide mission.
He went to turn and leave but she quickly grabbed his sleeve and pulled him back. "Wait! Avery's alive."
His body stiffened, slowly turning his head to look back at Josi. "What?"
"She's alive. She- she just hasn't woken up yet. She has been making it through the past nights."
His stomach began to drop. "Can you take me to her? I need to say goodbye one last time."
She nodded. "Of course."
