"Griffin, you've got to do something. It's been over a day since the president died, the people will start panicking and wreak havoc if no one steps into command." Griffin turned to look at Eleni and frowned as he adjusted himself in the hospital bed.

"Does it look like I'm in shape to do that? Shouldn't this whole thing be your job?" He replied.

"No, this isn't my job, Griffin. Everyone is looking up to you to take the position." She rolled her eyes, shaking her head.

"Hm, well, I think you should be our next leader. How about that?" Griffin glanced over at her as she began to sputter. "Ex-excuse me? You lead this entire revolution. Did you not? It's only fair if-"

"Eleni, you started this entire thing." He paused to give her a reassuring smile. "You've saved me numerous times, and this is your revolution. And even so, I don't want to lead. That's way too much responsibility." Griffin gave her a nudge but she stayed silent.

"Come on, Eleni. The position is all yours." He pleaded promisingly.
She grinned softly. "Thanks, Griffin. I really appreciate it."

"Oh shut up, you're just doing me a favor. Besides, I don't need all that extra work on my shoulders."

Eleni nodded. "Oh, have you talked to Avery at all? ..She's just a few hallways away." She asked. Immediately Griffin glanced away, biting onto his bottom lip.

No answer.

"Griffin.."

"All I'm doing is harm by staying with her. And if I continue on by her side it will only get worse. I can't change it." Eleni went to speak but was cut off.

"I don't want to lead her on. She almost murdered the president for me, mind you. Which is also why I can't stay with her. I'll only ever bring harm her way. She's far too sweet to continue getting involved with the mayhem in my life."

Eleni took a moment to think, letting out a small sigh. "I know, but I've never seen you love anymore as much as you love her. And I'm positive she feels the same way. You're only hurting her more if you let this go. Then you'll spend the rest of your life regretting it."

"Eleni, I appreciate your attempts but my mind has already been made. Unfortunately, nothing you say or do can change that. I'm also getting tired now.." He yawned watching as Eleni stood up from her chair.

"Well, I guess it was worth a shot. I'll you soon, correct?" She questioned looking down at him. He nodded as he tightened his grip around his blanket. "I'm sure you'll see me around the city sometime. We'll find each other again."

Griffin watched that night on TV as Eleni was officially announced president, with Emily also getting announced vice-president. Eleni's speech was outstanding and definitely very promising for the people. However, they may have been more focused on the fact that Emily was cheering her on the entire time. The first thing Eleni promised the people was the end of the tests. No more children would be killed over a test score.

Josi sat beside Avery's bed as Avery scrolled through websites on her laptop. She clicked on the purchase button and then shut it off. "Done. Plane ticket and brand new apartment bagged."

Josi smiled at her. "Dude, I'm so happy for you. But I'm gonna miss you like crazy."

"I'm going to miss you too." It was hard to realize that in just two days she would be leaving for Hawaii. The feeling of it all was bittersweet. She was excited to leave, but leaving everyone behind.. not so much.
