Fives, Jesse and Hardcase had requested to destroy the enemy ships by order against General Krell. With Captain Rex, Caleb and Barriss shielding their operation. Their mission had been successful, despite the bitter loss of Hardcase. Leading both Fives and Jesse for a court martial.

Meanwhile, the relentless Padawan Dume, accompanied by senior Padawan Barriss Offee had been working hard to relieve the loyal clones, employing adequate effort in convincing Krell to reconsider his actions.

Now almost certain of his betrayal, Caleb and Barriss had plotted a plan to capture the General, shall he be deceiving them.

"General Krell, I respectfully request you reconsider court martialling Fives and Jesse."

"The actions of arc trooper CT-5555 and CT-5597 were a clear act of treachery, and disregard of my command. If punishment isn't swift, their defiance may inspire others to follow suite."

"Sir, the men are with you. It's just that some of them feel like you're putting their lives in danger. Needlessly."

"All the more reason to send a message that I am in charge, an insubordination will not be tolerated. Truth is, these clones have had a difficult time respecting my commands from the beginning. I've seen it before, some clones are just defective. They aren't able to succumb to authority. You're right captain, I don't think I can court martial them, it will only be a waste of time. And that is something we don't have. I'm afraid they'll need to be disposed of. Prepare a squad for execution."

"What? B...but sir!"

"Have it done immediately, or I'll do it myself."

"Master you can't! They were only trying to help."

"Do I have to cut your tongue off for you to stop talking?"

"Master Krell, if I may..."

"Do not take their responsibilities among yourself, Offee."

The prisoners were escorted onto the landing platform, where Caleb had taken it among himself to address the issues. Almost scolding Dogma for his blind loyalty and misbehaviour.

"Well, I've officially lost my sense of humour."

"Don't worry, Jesse. I got this."

"Will the prisoners request to be blindfolded?"

"Dogma, wait! This is wrong, and we all know it. The general is making a mistake, and he needs to be called on it. No clone should have to go out this way. You're men, loyal men. You follow orders, but you're not a bunch of unthinking droids. You must be trusted to make the right decisions, especially when the orders you are given are wrong. Men, lay down your weapons. That's an order!"

Where Rex responded by pulling the child away, in ways testing the loyalty of his men.

"No! We follow the general's orders. Troopers, FIRE!"

"NOOOoooo?"

"What? What happened?"

"They're doing the right thing, Dogma. Because if this is how soldiers are rewarded for heroic action, then one day, every man in this battalion may face a similiar fate."

"No commander, we have orders. We must go through with this!"

"Good luck finding anyone to do it."
