Chapter 4: A new Mentor

A new day has came and Lukimaro is waiting for his new mentor at the place he mentioned but he doesn't seem to show up at all which makes Lukimaro a little impatient

Lukimaro: We were supposed to meet long ago, where the hell is he?

Levi: Patience is a virtue brat.

Lukimaro look behind him seeing Levi on top of the tree

Lukimaro: How, I didn't even see you coming or when I came here.

Levi: You have to learn to blent into the environment and use it to your advantage.

He jumps off the tree and walks up to Lukimaro

Levi: We're starting your first lesson now.

Lukimaro: Huh?

He goes close to Lukimaro kicking him in the stomach causing him to be pushed back

Lukimaro: What the-

While he's trying to look back he sees Levi about to stomp on his head but he jumps back assuming a battle stance

They stare at each other for a long moment until Lukimaro finally makes a move running up to Levi who lifts his leg up in the air about to smash it in Luki's face but he slides under him and behind him

He is about to jump and grab Levi's head but he turns catching him midair smashing him into the ground

Levi: Not bad for a kid.
But I'm not impressed you can do better than this, I want to see improvement if you want to be useful to me.

Lukimaro stands up taking his battle stance again nodding which causes Levi to let a grin escape his lips

Half of the day goes like that with Levi teaching Lukimaro a few battle techniques which he has to memorise and execute on him because otherwise they will be lost because of Levi not willing to repeat himself

The sun has already settled as both of them sit under the tree with Levi barely looking tired when Lukimaro is panting barely able to move a muscle

Levi: Your not as bad as I thought but not good enough either.
You have made my expectations rise which is a mistake because as of now you'll have to endure harder training.

Lukimaro: Yes sir.
I'll do my best to rise to your expectations and become stronger.

Levi ruffles Luki's hair and stands up

Levi: C'mon brat I'll treat you dinner.

Levi starts walking away while Lukimaro hurries to stand up and run after him

Lukimaro: Sir, can I ask you a few questions?

Levi: As long as you're not gonna waste my time with idiotic shit, go ahead ask anything.

Lukimaro: How are we gonna fight the titans?
I mean they are much stronger and we don't have the fire power to fight them head on.

Levi: It's currently begin worked on.
You don't need to know more until the weapons we need are brought to us.

Lukimaro: I understand sir thanks for the understanding.

Levi: Stop this, if you keep it up like this you'll never be more than my subordinate and I actually looked up to you begin a equal of mine when the right time comes.

Lukimaro: Do you mean it?

Levi: Yes, stay near me but don't be a butt kisser for anyone except me.

Lukimaro: Uhhh, alright?

The rest of the walk is silent until they arrive at the same Inn they met at, while Lukimaro takes a seat Levi places their orders

They sit in awkward silence for a few moments until Levi clears his throat
