It took a while, but Dean eventually managed to get Baby back on the road. Just about as soon as she was declared drivable, the three of us hopped in and hit the road. We didn't even go anywhere, we just drove and listened to classic rock.

Baby was our home, and we'd been away for too long.

"Whoo! Listen to her purr." Dean rubbed the steering wheel, admiring his handiwork. "You ever heard anything so sweet?"

"If you two wanna get a room, just let me know, Dean." Sam leaned forward to say. I laughed from my seat in between them.

"Oh, don't listen to him, Baby." Dean reassured the inanimate object. "He doesn't understand us."

"You're in a good mood." I nudged Dean's shoulder, and he grinned at me and Sam.

"Why shouldn't I be?" He asked, his smile never leaving his face.

"No reason."

"I got my car, got a case..."

"Wait, we have a case?" I asked. "Why the hell didn't anyone tell me? I thought we were just going for a drive! Way to keep me in the loop, morons."

"You really need to pay more attention." Sam rolled his eyes.

"Anyway, things are looking up." Dean laughed at us, continuing his earlier statement.

"Wow." Sam laughed. "You hear a couple of severed heads and a pile of dead cows, and you're Mr. Sunshine."

"How far to Red Lodge?"

"Well, at least now I know where we're going..."

"Uhh, about another 300 miles." Sam looked out the window.

"Good." Dean grinned wider and pressed harder on the gas. I let out a whoop and Sam laughed at us.

"I got one more quick touch." I told the boys, reaching into my pocket to retrieve the cheap green compass I had leant to Dean. I grinned at them, looping it over the rearview mirror.

"Really?" Dean's voice didn't lose it's happiness. "We're gonna be those assholes?"

"Yup." I shot him a toothy smile. "Just be glad I collect compasses and not fuzzy dice."

"The murder investigation is ongoing." The sheriff of Red Lodge informed us after we entered his office. "That's all I can share with the press at this time."

"Sure, sure, we understand that." Sam reasoned, keeping our cover as reporters. "But just for the record, you found the first head last week, correct?"

"Mm-hmm." The sheriff nodded.

"And the other, Christina Flanigan-"

"That was two days ago." The sheriff cut Sam off. He went to continue on, but a knock on the door stopped him. "Sorry, boys - and girl, times up. We're done here."

"One last question-"

"Are you a virgin?"

All eyes in the room, as well as a few in the hallway, shot me a funny look. It's not like i actually wanted his sex life status- I was just trying to keep him interested.

"What about the cattle?" Dean asked.

"Excuse me?"

"You know, the cows found dead, split open and drained- over a dozen cases." Dean leaned forward, and I crossed my arms. I hated having my questions ignored- relevance be damned.
