The three of us remained in Peoria for a little while to search for any sign of Ava. Weeks of no luck and still we continued the search.

"What did Ellen say?" Dean asked as Sam hung up the phone.

"She's got nothing." Sam answered, rubbing a tired hand down his face. "I've been checking every database I can think of, federal, state, and local. No one's heard anything about Ava. She just-- into thin air, you know?"

"I came up empty too. Nothing sketchy in her records." I added. "Dean?"

"No, same as before. Sorry, man." Dean said to Sam.

"Ellen did have one thing." Sam said, and I rolled my eyes. He had literally just said she didn't know anything. "A hotel in Cornwall, Connecticut... two freak accidents in the past three weeks."

"Soo... Ellen had something totally unrelated.." I sighed.

"Seems that way." Dean raised his brows. "Why's that relevant, Sam?"

"It's not." Sam shrugged. "But it's a job. I mean, a lady drowned in the bathtub, then a few days ago, a guy falls down the stairs, head turns a complete 180,  which isn't exactly normal... I don't know. It might be nothing, but I told Ellen we'd check it out."

"You did?" Dean asked.

"You seem surprised."

"Yeah, it's just, you know... not the patented Sam Winchester way, is it?" Dean answered carefully.

"And what way is that?" Sam asked, preparing to be offended.

"Yes, Dean, which way is that?" I smirked at my older brother, knowing damn well that he was capable of getting himself in trouble with Sam.

"I just figured after Ava, there'd be, you know, more angst and droopy music and staring out the rainy windows..." Dean glanced up at us. Sam looked at Dean like he was the dumbest thing since the platypus. I pursed my lips together to hide my amusement. "You know what? I'll shut up now."

"I'm the one who told her to go back home." Sam explained. "Now her fiancé's dead, and some demon has taken her off to god knows where, you know? I mean, we've been looking for a month now, and we've got nothing... So I'm not giving up on her, but I'm not gonna let other people die, either. We've gotta save as many people as we can."

"I might actually have someone..." I hesitated before continuing. "He seems like he knows everything about everything... Maybe he knows something about Ava."

"Who?"

"I asked you to look into him, Sam." I reminded him. "Tencontar, remember?"

"Where is he?" Sam looked eagerly at me.

"Well, see, I don't actually know that." I tried to explain. "He just kind of turns up sometimes... I think he's an elf."

"Like... a Christmas elf? Because I'm fairly certain those aren't real." Dean rolled his eyes.

"No, more like a Lord of the Rings elf." I blushed at my own words.

"I'm even more certain those aren't real." Dean let out a real laugh and I frowned.

"Shut up. He's real." I grumbled. "Anyway, if you guys wanna go check out Ellen's tip, I can try and track this guy down.

"Luce, come on-"

"I'll be safe." I insisted. "Or at least I'll try to be. This way you and Sam can help some people and I can look into what happened to Ava."

"If you're sure." Sam answered before Dean could. I nodded.
