Paradise Lost (Season One)

Chapter Ten: Checkmate.

Jimin was surprised and excited.

When they came for his appointment, Jimin didn't expect for them to properly see anything of their pup still but that wasn't the case. At almost six months, the image on the screen was clearly defined as their son. Jimin stared at the image and felt his heart racing as he made out the shape of an ear, a nose and even little fingers and toes. The warm wetness that gathered in his eyes started to blur his vision. Jimin felt Jungkook's grip tighten around his hand and he glanced to the side and then up at the Alpha and smiled warmly at the truly shocked expression on Jungkook's usually cold expression. It seemed that the Alpha hadn't expected to see much of their pup either. It was a pleasant surprise. The doctor turned and smiled at the two.

"It seems the pup is very healthy. Developing normally." The doctor said as Jimin

glanced at the doctor and nodded with a soft giggle.

"His father makes sure I take good care of myself." Jimin said as he gave Jungkook

a fond look. Jungkook glanced down at Jimin slowly and a smile crossed his own lips.

"Our son..." Jungkook said softly. Jimin nodded as he pulled Jungkook's hand to

his belly, letting their joined hands rest a top of the small mound.

"Our son." Jimin mirrored.

Once they finished up with the appointment, the doctor printed out the ultrasound and set up Jimin to get some labs done before his next visit. Jimin thanked the young beta at the checkout desk before leaving with Jungkook. Stepping outside to several of Jungkook's men scattered about, keeping guard. Taehyung and Hoseok waiting by the black SUV for the couple. With everything going on, Jungkook wasn't going to take chances, especially when Jimin was out with him. Jimin held Jungkook's hand as he led him to the car. Hoseok smiled as he watched Jimin's cute waddle beside Jungkook. Jimin was so small that he really seemed like all belly at this point. Taehyung grinned as he opened the door for Jimin, watching as Jungkook helped him into the SUV. Jungkook planted a soft kiss on Jimin's lips. Jimin stealing a few himself as he settled in the seat.

"I will be back as soon as I can." Jungkook said as Jimin gave a small nod.

"Be careful." Jimin said as he placed a hand against Jungkook's cheek. Jungkook's

eyes lowered as he tilted his head, nuzzling his face into Jimin's palm and sighing. He hated to leave Jimin's side lately, especially his Alpha, but he had no choice. Jungkook grabbed Jimin's hand, kissing at the Omega's knuckles.

"Eat something and rest." Jungkook said and Jimin nodded. Jungkook pulled back

and closed the door. Glancing in the driver's seat at Seokjin, who gave a small nod of understanding. Seokjin understood that look from the Alpha without any words. Keep Jimin safe. Jungkook then glanced at Hoseok as he bowed his head before turning and walking around the SUV and getting in. Jungkook and Taehyung took a step back as the SUV pulled off with a few grunts on motorcycles following behind it. Taehyung folded his arms behind his head as he licked his lips.

"Well?" Taehyung asked.

"A boy." Jungkook said, slipping back into his cold persona. Taehyung's eyes lifted

as he grinned like an excited child.

"Oh, lucky you! A proper heir!" Taehyung said as Jungkook closed his eyes and

then turned to walk towards his car.

"Mm." Was Jungkook's response. Jungkook would have been fine with either a girl
