"Yule Ball" ~ Cedric Diggory

Background: you and Cedric have been close friends since before Hogwarts as your parents knew each other. Over the years you have developed feelings for Cedric not knowing he feels the same way which results in him asking you to the yule ball.

y/n pov

I had just finished charms class with Professor Flitwick which was always my favorite class apart from Herbology with Professor Sprout. I was heading to the y/h common room as I had some free time before my next class. As I'm walking with my best friend Luna Lovegood I hear my name being called. I turn around and I see Cedric heading my way causing me to smile. Soon he reaches Luna and I. "Hey ced" I see him smile like always when I call him his nickname I have for him. "Hey um y/n can I talk to you for a second, in private?" I nod. "I'll leave you two alone then." Luna states before walking away. "Walk and talk?" I ask Cedric and he nods. We start walking and it's quiet for a while. Well it was quiet until I spoke up. "So what did you want to talk to me about?" I see a small smile form on his lips. "Well as you know the Yule ball is in two weeks and I was wondering if you'd like to go with me?" I feel myself blush a bit before I answer him. "I'd love to go with you Ced." At this point his smile it even bigger. "Great! I'll meet you by the great hall at 8." I nod and we keep talking as we walk. We reach my house's common room and we part ways. I walk in and go up to my dorm smiling big. I see my dorm mate, Grace, sitting on her bed. "Grace, you won't believe what just happened" She looks up from her book and gives me a look signalling for me to tell her. "Cedric asked me to go to the Yule ball with him and I said yes" Grace puts her book down. "I knew he would ask you!" I look at her confused. "It's obvious he would ask the girl he likes which is you. I can see the way he looks at you, he totally likes you." Wait, Cedric likes me? No he can't, we're just friends even though it pains me to say it. I like him but he most likely wouldn't feel the same way. Or so I thought.

Time skip to the ball

It's the day of the ball. I'm currently in my room getting ready, I had just finished taking a shower and dried my y/hc hair. I go to grab my dress before slipping it on along with my heels.

Once my dress and heals are on I start on my hair. I decide to just put it into some simple loose curls. After my hair is done I put on some light makeup to keep it simple. Soon it's time to meet up with Cedric. I walk out my room then out the common room. I met up with some friends of mine since we agreed to met up before the ball. We talk the whole way to the great hall. We get to the great hall and I see Cedric waiting for me. I say goodbye to my friends and walk over to him. "Wow, you look...beautiful." He says which causes me to blush. "You don't look to bad yourself." I say and notice his face has a slight blush. Soon it's time to head to the dance floor for the Triwizard champions to dance. The door opens and in walked Fleur and her date. Next was Viktor Krum and Hermione. Then it was Cedric and I with Harry and his date following. 

While Cedric and I dance, we talk. Towards the end of our dance he says something I wasn't quite expecting. "So erm y/n I've been meaning to tell you this for a while.." I nod slightly to signal for him to continue. "and I like you, I always have since first year." I see that his face is slightly red from blush which I smile at. "I feel the same way Ced" I say and look him in his eyes. "Well will you be mine?" He asks while still blushing a bit. I smile and nod. Before I know it we both lean in and kiss just as the song was ending. It was perfect. We pull away before another song plays and we dance together once again. The rest of the night we spend dancing, smiling, laughing and overall just having a perfect night together.
