"the choice is easy" ~ Percy Weasley

Background information: Percy and Y/n began dating in their 5th year at hogwarts. After starting their lives outside of hogwarts they had gotten married and had a son. Recently Percy has been working a lot more which is causing him to not be home much.

Y/n pov

It was yet another Friday evening. I had just picked mine and Percy's son, Louis, up from my mother's house since she watched him while I went and did some things I needed to do. Now that he's home with me I start on dinner. "Alright Louis you play while mommy makes dinner" I say to my son as I set him in the living room with his toys. I make my way back into the kitchen and begin cooking. My gaze falls over to the clock every so often just watching the time. Soon dinner is ready and I feed Louis then tidy up.

A sigh escapes my lips as it was yet another night that Percy wasn't here to eat dinner with us. "Let's get you a bath my sweet boy" I say as I pick Louis up and head to the bathroom. "Is daddy home?" Louis asked as I placed him in the bath, "not yet sweetie" was all I could say that he would understand. I then distracted him with some of the bath toys. Louis was the in a state of giggles the entire bath from playing with the bubbles the soap had made. Before I knew it, I was laid on the couch after getting him to sleep. I checked the time on the clock and it read "3:00 a.m." to which I rolled eyes as I heard the door open. "Nice of you to finally come home" I said before getting up. "Love I'm sorry, things got busy at work" Percy tried to explain.

"Save it! It's always about work with you. Either you stay late to finish papers or things get busy or a whole bunch of other bloody things. It's getting ridiculous Percy! You're own son rarely sees his own father and I have to rely on my mother for help with OUR son." I argue with him feeling tears beginning to form. "I just can't take it anymore." That was the last thing I said to him before walking off to check on Louis up in his room. Percy had just stood there not saying a thing.

Upon entering Louis's room he woke up from me shouting. I felt bad but Percy had really pissed me off this time. Carefully I sat next to Louis in his bed before he scooted closer to me. "Daddy's home? Me heard him" I hear Louis ask in his little voice. "Yeah he's home Lou, you'll see him in the morning." I say with a forced smile. During all this, Percy was in the doorway listening to the conversation. "Me miss seeing daddy" I heard from Louis followed by a small yawn. "Me too Lou." I reply feeling the tears come back from how much it hurt knowing he rarely got to see Percy. I felt him snuggle up to me as I held him until he fell back asleep. Once I knew he was surely asleep I moved him over onto his pillow then stood up before tucking him in. After placing a kiss on his forehead I whispered, "Sweet dreams my lou, mommy loves you" with a smile on my face before heading out his room and shut his door then headed to bed myself.

Percys pov

It hurt hearing my own son ask about me. Y/n says he asks about me a lot... I didn't realize how much it affect the two of them.  Gosh I messed up big time with choosing work over my own family. I need to fix this. But how? Louis probably hates me for not seeing him a lot and I know Y/n is bloody furious with me. I sigh before changing and heading to bed. 

~Next moring y/n pov~

I woke up to Percy's side of the bed being empty as normal so I got out of bed and headed downstairs thinking Louis was still asleep. However to my suprise I find Louis and Percy in the kitchen together making pancakes. Louis was putting all sorts of toppings onto his when he saw me. I laughed as he got down from his stool and ran over to me before picking him up. "Mommy! me and daddy make pancakes" Louis exclaimed. "I see that sweetie, you're such a big boy" I say as I go sit him at the table so he could eat. I then hear Percy walk up behind me. "He really is, he helped me make yours love." he spoke while placing the rest of the pancakes down onto the table. "I'm sorry about last night," Percy spoke softly, "I talked to my boss and got a few months off to spend more time with you two and got them to fix my hours so that I have more time with you both." A smile formed on my face hearing those words. "Oh Perc, you didn't have to do all of that" I said after hugging him. "I wanted to and needed to. After all the choice is easy I want plenty of time with the loves of my life." He said with a smile before leaning in and leaving a gentle kiss on my lips.
