Not a oneshot, haven't proofread, and the second part is still in progress. Hope you guys enjoy reading this though.

Jimin stares up at the sky, the sun shining but visible through the glass of water that covers its brightness.

He sighed to himself.

Being the youngest among all thirteen of them siblings has been the best and the worst for him. Best, because his grandmother takes care of him the most and he gets the most affection from his father. Worst, because he's still not allowed to venture above the sea, where, according to his eldest sister, plenty of fun and romance happens-the land.

Now, Jimin's all for fun and happiness, but romance? Never in his life had he experienced that. Sure, there's plenty of beautiful mermaids and mermen out there, but Jimin doesn't find them attractive at all. What he wants is pure romantic feelings go for someone who he'll get to know as time passes by and the person he'd grow to see as someone beautiful over time.

Jimin averted his gaze back to the castle.

There's still two years to go. Two years, and he's finally eighteen. Two years, and he'll finally see the land and their occupants, and it's up to him if he'll wish stay observing them through the years or back down at the ocean

Come his seventeenth birthday and Jimin's already jumping with the fact that he'll be waiting for only just one more year and he'll be out there discovering the real world.

"Jimin! Jimin!" Seokjin, his oldest brother came swimming to his side. The merman was holding a flower that looked no like any flowers under the sea, in he garden Jimin takes care of. "Happy birthday, baby fish," Seokjin greeted him. He handed Jimin the flower, Jimin's doe eyes observing it with much interest and fascination.

"What's this?" Jimin asked.

"A flower, silly." Seokjin chuckled.

"I know. What I meant is that I want to know what flower this is. Surely, this isn't any ocean or sea flowers, right?" Jimin twirled the flower using his thumb and index finger, the petals swaying slowly as it moved against the steady water.

"It's a Primrose," Seokjin answered. His cheeks, although underwater, grew a light visible shade of red.

"Primrose?" Jimin looked at Seokjin's blushing cheeks and back at the flower.

"Yeah. Uh-uhm, a friend from land gave it. He said he wishes you a fruitful year as blessings for your birthday," Seokjin explained.

Jimin hummed. Though he already has an idea as to who this "friend" might be, he didn't pry into it. Seokjin had promised him he'll take him to meet his friend once he's at the right age, and Jimin hopes on to that. "Well then, please tell him that the Primrose was such a lovely gift. I was joyed with it." Jimin smiled at him.

"Sure do, baby brother. Now, shall we go and attend dinner? I heard the palace maids have killed huge crabs to celebrate your birthday, and of course, they'll have your favourite seaweeds served."

And so they went back to the castle hand-in-hand. The flower on Jimin's other. It's life did not last that long underwater, but Seokjin said that his friend would and is more than glad to give him Primroses monthly, and so does he have a Primrose on his hand every first Monday of every month.
