It was suffocating but freeing at the same time. The rush of coldness spread threw out his body as he slowly sunk farther into the depths of the dark. His chest was aching for release and his head pounded at the sound of water, the final release of air came and he was just floating as suffocating coldness took over his body. It spread from his lungs to every inch of his sinking body.
The world grew dark as the static ringing in his ear silenced its self to be a distant memory of the past.
Dylan jolted awake in his bed squeezing the blankets that were laying on his bed close to his chest for comfort, looking around in the darkness that haunted him every night only to realize it was just a dream. A dream and not a nightmare.
A dream of which he hoped would never come true but if it did he would be content with the outcome. He exhaled the breath he was holding, getting his heart to calm its self only to glance over at his alarm clock to come to the realization he was late for the nightshift.
