Meeting Mr. Styles (chapter 3)

The next day I woke up and got ready, I was up earlier than usual because we would have to start early and work late giving all the new knight trainees there physicals. But I was excited, I could get to show my skills again. At about 7:30 am all of them were already waiting in line and we had started. We could only do two at a time. I would check one person while Nelda would do another. After multiple people I went to restock some things before getting to the next person. I had walked back into the Check up room and I saw a young boy, similar age, he had curly fluffy hair and emerald green eyes. I instantly recognized him and bowed. I kinda had a problem where I bowed a lot, like a lot.
"You don't have to do that you know? I'm not royalty." He said while kinda laughing
"But you are very well known and highly ranked Mr. Styles" I said shocked that I was actually meeting someone from the styles family
"That doesn't matter. I don't see why people focus so much on rank, I think everyone should be treated the same. Also you can just call me Harry." He said while smiling
"Well thank you, Harry." I replied while getting some stuff ready
"You seem really young, how old are you?" He asked
"I'm 13, I just started not long ago." I said while setting stuff out now
"Oh so we are close in age, I turned 14 a few months ago." He said excitedly
"Well happy late birthday!" I exclaimed happily while finally finished setting everything out
"Ok so for this first one I just need to feel your vocal cords so if you could just say hello my name is Harry for me" I said while placing my hands on his neck to feel him vocal cords
He did that and then I did some other stuff with reflexes and checking joints and other stuff like that
"Ok now for this one I need you to lay on your back" I said and he did that "tell me if anything hurts when I do this" I said while lightly pressing down on his stomach and sides, although only 14 he still had very nice abs
"Nope, nothing hurts." He said
"Well that's good, you should be all set. I didn't see anything wrong so you'll be able to go and try out. Good luck, I really hope you do good!" I said while smiling as he got off the examination table and when he did I grabbed the paper that was on it and threw it away placing another one on.
"Thank you" he said walking out of the room
The whole day Nelda and I were just constantly working non stop. It was really tiring but I loved this job. We had been working for hours on top of hours, at about 8:45 pm we had the last person. When we were done I just cleaned up my area and refilled everything so it would be ready for tomorrow, I said goodnight to Nelda and ran through the halls trying to find Niall. I had no clue where he was or if he was even awake but I just went to all of the places he normally hung out at. I found him eventually.
"Niall! You will never guess what happened!" I said excitedly
"Did you see Harry Styles?" He said and looked shocked
"I didn't just see him, I met him. He was one of the one of my patients" I said so quickly with joy
" that's so cool, you're so lucky. Also how long have you been working today?" He asked looking a little concerned
"Um since about 7:30 this morning" I said plainly
"That's not good for you to work that long, try and get some good sleep tonight ok?" He asked me
I nodded and we both went back to our separate quarters and went to sleep. In the morning I got up and went to the infirmary just like every other morning. But today it was Saturday, which means today is the day that the knight trainees try out today and you can watch them. It's like a competition, they fight (obviously not to death) and the best ones get to become knights.
          "Good morning y/n, you're here early" Nelda said as I walked in
          "I wanted to get my work done so I could go watch the knights try out today" I told her cheerfully
          "That's very wise of you to get a head start, you know prince Louis will be there" she said jokingly
          "Why do you always bring that up" I said while jokingly rolling my eyes
          "Because you fancy him dear" she murmured
          "Don't be nuts, he doesn't even know I exist, how who I like him" I told her, but I was more trying to convince myself I didn't like him then trying to convince Nelda. I mean how could I like him, he's a prince who doesn't even know I exist yet here I am looking out the window every chance I get.
          I got most of my work done and even had some patients, by this time it was noon and the try outs were about to start. I gathered all of my things and dropped them off in my quarters and then head down to the lawn where they had big stands and bleachers set up for people to watch. This was a big deal in the kingdoms so lots of people did come so it was hard to find seats, I eventually found one and it was surprisingly close to the front. I saw Niall over in the royal tent because he was one of the main royal servants, but I hate using that word. After a few minutes a guy with a big horn came out and blew it to let everyone know it was about to begin. Then Queen Johanna started talking and announcing all of the people trying out as they walked onto the big lawn, everyone's attention quickly went to the royal tent when she started talking but instead of my attention going to the Queen I was just looking at prince Louis in his throne
What are you doing
           You can't be doing this, he doesn't know you exist
          Stop it
          But look at him
          No!
All of these thoughts raced through my head till I finally pulled myself together and snapped out of it. I look back to the lawn and see Harry walking out onto the lawn. He saw me and gave me a quick smile and a small wave. I waved back to him as he stood in the long line of people. The competition started and they would have people go head to head and if you step out of the circle you are out or if you can get your sword to someone's throat they are out. The competition went on and on and I felt like it just was never going to end. Eventually it got narrowed down to about 15 people and those were the winners, Harry being one of them. After they stopped the fight Queen Johanna had them all line up in a line as she handed out the metal badges saying they were officially knights for the Tomlinson kingdom, although they still had to go through training. After the whole thing was over I was getting up to leave Niall came over.
"Hey" Niall said while walking up to me
"Hi, what are you up to?" I asked him
"I have to go back to help with prince Ernest, what about you? Do you have to go back to work?" He asked me
"Yeah, but there hasn't been that many people coming in recently, which is a great thing. It means people are staying safe and healthy. That mean I get to read my book!" I said excitedly while holding up a book
"I don't know if I've ever seen someone so happy to read a book before" he said while laughing
"I love them, they can just take me on so many adventures to so many lands far far away while staying here at the same time" I said almost in a day dream
"Well I have to go, and I don't want to keep you from reading so I will see you later." Niall told me as he walked back to the royal tent
I went back up to the infirmary and by the time I got there Nelda was already there. Since I had gotten most of my work done earlier I just had to finish up a few last minute things and then I grabbed you book and started reading by my favorite window.
(Your window in this story was a lot like the one in Tangled, you could have it open or closed but it was also a wide enough window sill that you could sit on it)
