Y/n POV I had waken up to the sound of the rooster crowing. Normally when I woke up the sun was already shining bright. But today was different. I sat up and looked out my small window, grey. The day fit my mood. It had apparently been snowing all night. I guess it was a blizzard. No one was allowed out of the castle due to safety protocols. As much as I didn't want to go to work, I had to. I knew that since it was the day after Christmas, loads would be coming in with hangovers. I got up and put on my light blue dress and pink apron.

I pulled my hair into a loose half up hairstyle and slipped on my black work shoes. I got my bag from the floor and threw it over my shoulder before heading off to the infirmary.
When I arrived, Nelda was obviously already there, already in room 2 with a patient. I saw a note on the counter that read :patient in room 1 for you. Written on parchment with blue ink, Neldas curvy cursive writing. I threw the note away and headed into the room. It was someone I hadn't expected, Zayn. From what I've seen of him, I thought he was in perfect condition.
"Zayn? What are you doing here?" I questioned
"I have a problem and I thought you could maybe diagnose me. I think I may be sick" he responded
"What's wrong? What makes you think you're sick? What hurts?" I asked needing more information
"I don't know how to explain it. It's like nothing I've felt before. My heart kind of feels tattered, and it gets hard to breathe. Something feels off, I don't feel right" he explained
"Is there anything that triggers this? Or is it a constant state?" I questioned
"Well the first time it happened was the other night, the ball, Liam and Maya went to dance, and that's when it happened." He was talking fast, I just nodded letting him know I was listening
"And then it happened again yesterday, when Liam and Maya showed up outside." He admitted
"Zayn, do you fancy Maya?" I asked
"No, definitely not. When she was dancing with other guys nothing felt wrong." He explained. That's when it hit me.
"Zayn, when you saw Liam and I dancing together. Did you have this feeling?"
"Yes" he admitted
"I think I know what's wrong. There is a gentleman that I fancy, and when I see him with other people, I get the feeling of what you just described to me. Do you think it's possible you fancy Liam?" I asked warily
"But that makes no sense, Liam is a boy, and I'm a boy. That's not how it works." Zayn said, his voice laced with confusion
"Anything is possible. I've seen two guys together before. And I've seen two girls together before. Just because it isn't what you are used to doesn't mean it's wrong." I explained
