Early bird catches the worm

Maura knew I like to go fishing with my brothers.  This was on her morning itenirary for us after breakfast.  I never been ice fishing. This was definitely a first for me and definitely for Maura.  We rented the gear and dressed extra warm. We drove to the lake that we would partake in our first ice fishing extravaganza as Maura referred to it as. We drank lots of coffee to help us stay warm.  The locals showed us how to break the ice safely and not go too big.
I didn't catch one and we laughed. Maura caught a 8lb bass fish that I took pictures of her reeling it in and removing it from the hook. I had my camera set to automatic video of this. I knew she would get a kick out if it and enjoy the bragging rights.  My favorite part of the video,  her screaming, " help me,  it's slimy." We returned back and asked them to ice the refrigerate for us until we took it to one of the local restaurants had services that would clean and cook it for us. We got cleaned up because we stunk like fish.
We found a restaurant that cooked it. Wow, she did well in her catch.  8lb was too much for us. We offered them to give a few customers some of it too.  We had broccoli and side salad with it and a nice Chablis. 

We talked for a while and walked around the quaint town and did some shopping for Christmas for unique gifts.

We stopped by several of the fires they had along the town for town folk and visitors to stay warm.   Maura finally told me tomorrow they had an old fashion street like faire with locals selling a variety of items.

We headed back and changed into gym clothing and ran on the treadmills for an hour an a half. We headed back to our rooms which provided hot tubs on the deck.  We drank hot tea and just had our muscles relax. We stayed in the hot tub for another 1 1/2 hours. We got out and felt the chill immediately. We turned our heater on to warm us up while we took a shower.

These two days have been filled with lots of fun. We dried off and both had a decaf coffee with our apple and cherry slices.  We shared our slices and got ready for bed. Maura told I could sleep in and didn't have to wake up for breakfast if I  didn't want to. She said she would bring up breakfast for me. Tomorrow was just set aside for the the old fashion faire. Jane fell alseep before I did. I took this opportunity to review my emails and respond to some.  Korsak sent me email and asked me to open in privacy.  I read the email and was disappointed in the outcome of the Internal Affairs decision.  I was glad Jane had agreed to not use her cell while here.  I slept but slept restless.
