species: human mystic | user is a human born into a family, bloodline or a group of people with the ability to use magic as an innate talent instead of just studying. they are naturally adept in using magic. 

- the colour and nature of their magic depends solely on the caster and in bea's case, the spells are a bright orange colour, though sometimes they come out hot pink.

rottmnt version;

mystics were the original 'witches' who developed in the hidden city after the the empyrean spilt out of the crying titan. unlike the majority of the other yokais, they wanted peace and balance between the human and yokai worlds, and formed a group that was dedicated to keeping this balance 'the order of the mystics'- anyone who didn't join was outcast and were called witches. 

the traditional group of mystics split into two; the yokai mystics and the human mystics. the yokai mystics stayed in the hidden city whilst the human mystics would act as a sort of spy in the human world. both groups would only become involved in extreme matters regarding peace and balance.

as bea's parents are a part of the order, they volunteered to be spies in the human world, and this was why bea grew up in new york. they never told her of the order and their job, though they did teach her magic.

+ special abilities: 

spell casting;

 bea can cast spells, which are formulae for producing specific magic effects. as a human mystic, such formulae are often a series of specific thoughts and gestures ( see 'doctor strange' from doctor strange ). though she is also able to create spell cards ( see 'merlin' from red shoes ) that allow others to use her spells, or allow her to save spells for later. other mystics, can place spells on objects or 'bless' them, but bea cannot do this.

weaknesses; though, most spells may not work the way she planned and every spell has a consequence. an example of this may be; casting a spell that allows her to hold fire - but she's not immune to fire, so her hand will burn. this is why she prefers using her spell cards as she doesn't have this problem ( as the magic in the cards is diluted ) - but the problem with using her spell cards is that you can only use each one once and for a short period of time.
