Changed Destiny Part 3

Phantom's mask had broke, underneath was Bell Cranel, the person Ais has been searching for.

Ais was looking at Bell with a shocked expression, she would have never realized that Bell was with Erebus.

"Oh? You look as if you had seen a ghost, can't you see my legs? Or perhaps you prefer if I was a ghost, coming here to haunt you?" Bell taunted while continuing to look at Ais, this was one of the confrontations he was trying to avoid. But looks like they were destined to meet again.

"Why?" Ais managed to say as she broke out of her shocked state

"Having a hard time believing this is the real me?" Bell asked, "I'm your enemy, strange turn of events is it not?"

"No! I won't accept this, the Bell I know was always kind, always putting others before himself. You're not the Bell I know! Give me back my Bell!" Ais pleaded while fighting back the tears threatening to escape.

"Then I'll make you accept it" Bell said, "no one is truly good, one wrong decision and it can all come crumbling down"

"Don't mess with me!" Ais said trying to reason with Bell, "what about your dream!? The person you wanted to catch up to!"

"I still have that dream, but in order to make that dream a reality I must do this, I'm not asking for your forgiveness, I already accepted that when I signed up. The next time we meet would be in the battlefield, so you better give it your all" Bell said before picking up the remains of his mask and putting it on. He turned around and started to walk away until he was stopped by Ais again.

"I won't stop! I'll bring you back! No matter what it takes." Ais said while looking at Bell.

"I'll be waiting" Bell said before disappearing through the night

Time Skip
Bell and Erebus met up in their little hideout not to far away from Orario. They were taking about what  Ais had told Bell.

"Erebus, I have lit the fire in Ais, she will be the one to defeat me" Bell said as he tried to suppress his crying

"How are you doing Bell? I can feel your pain, it's no use lying to a god" Erebus said, "now tell me do you regret doing this?"

"I..I do. B..But I know it's for the best. When she saw it was me she froze in shock, I f..feel bad p..putting all this b..burden in her" Bell said as a few tears fell from his eyes.

"Look Bell, I know your worried that she may die. But this is the only way to save her, when you confronted her it seemed to have changed her soul, so have a little faith in her. after all you are the one who's burdening her with all of this." Erebus said, "If it makes you feel better, the black flame in her has died down, we can start on act 2 as soon as we get some more info"

"Okay" Bell asked while wiping away the few tears that fell down, "did you manage to plant the documents?"

"Yes, it's only a matter of time before the remaining groups come out of hiding, be ready to strike, once we get their location it would only be a matter of time before 'it' shows up" Erebus said, Bell knew that he was referring to the One Eyed Black Dragon

"I've been wondering, why do I have to be the only one to do this? I know I asked to join you, but couldn't we get more help?" Bell asked trying to change the topic for now.

"No, it had to be only you. You saw how everyone was affected by you wether it be good or bad. So what would people feel if they get betrayed by one of their close friends?" Erebus asked

"Now that you mention it, they will definitely get mad and try to kill me, I guess I got lucky with Ais" Bell said

"No Bell, you don't understand. This has nothing to do with luck. What I'm saying is despite you betraying them, they know it's not something you would do" Erebus said, "tell me, didn't Ais doubt you, saying it's not something you would do?"

"Yes, she was saying that she wouldn't accept that I changed" Bell replied

"See, that just proves my point. She know you must have some alternate motive" Erebus said, "how was Zald's sword?"

"It was heavy, I don't know how uncle was able to carry it" Bell asked

"It's cause he was a level 7, did you read the books your Aunt left you?" Erebus asked

"If your talking about the grimoire than no. I haven't checked it out yet" Bell said

"You should read them soon, Zald's fire skill would be helpful, I believe the spell was called Rea Ambrosia, but be warned it is a concurrent chant, and if I recall you don't have any experience with concurrent magic?" Erebus said while scratched his head

"No, it would be my first time, if you said it would be helpful then I shall read it" Bell said while walking to his room to retrieve the book.

"Next phase, destroying the core" Erebus thought as he looked at a map of Orario

Bell POV
Okay Bell, you need to keep you emotions in check! This is for her, I must do this or else she'll just die, I won't let that dragon take anyone else.

"Now where was that grimoire?" Bell thought as he looked through a book self, "there really are a lot of books here, Aunt Alfia sure was talented"

Bell kept on looking until he saw a book that stood out the most, it was white and had golden details, he took it out and saw it was a book that belonged to his mother. Bell stared at the book for a couple of seconds before building up the courage to open it, he hesitated at first but followed through. When the book opened a couple pictures fell down, they were all pictures of his family.

"Uncle Zald.." Bell said as he looked at the pictures, "m..mom" his mother really did look a lot like his Aunt, well it was to be expected, they were twins after all. Bell continued to look at the pictures before he saw a picture of an unknown man. He had black hair and red eyes.

"Is that my dad?" Bell asked out loud, "he looks so cool" he thought as he continued to look at the picture. There was one last picture, it was a picture of all of them smiling.

He wiped away a tear that had escaped and out all the pictures back inside the book, he took the book with him as he continued to look for the grimoire.

"Here it is" Bell said, "if I remember correctly I'm gonna pass out after reading this" he opened the book and started to read

"What is power to you?" And just like that Bell fainted

AN: I was thinking about giving Bell's dad a name but I suck at names, I'll probably think of something soon.
