"If you think even for a second I wanted that sodding girl you're crazy." I laughed. Jaison chuckled and shrugged. He glanced over at me and I could tell he liked being around me. A smile spread across my face and even though everything has gone to shit, even though I just lost the love of my life, even though my best friend is dying, even though I just kidnapped my college teacher, even though I know people are out for my head, even though I want nothing more than to run away, I feel safe. I feel trusted for once. I feel like I'm doing the right thing. I feel like leaving Macy was the right choice. I feel decent, and that's a start. I breathed in fresh air and closed my eyes. I want to feel this moment for a long time. I want this to be real, I want to stay and linger as long as I can, because this is the first time I've felt okay in a really long time.

"What?" Jaison asked looking at me with a warm smile.

"Huh?" I answered with another question.

"What are you thinking?" He glanced at me and returned his eyes to the road.

"I'm thinking that-" I started unsure of what to say. "Th-that I'm okay. That after this is over I can go off with you and Sequoyah and be free again, we can do what we used to back in the day." I smiled.

"You mean go crazy without a care in the world?" He laughed.

"That's exactly what I mean." I replied. I opened the sun roof and climbed on top of the car. I sat on the roof letting rain kiss my skin. Jaison sped up to 92mph. I closed my eyes and stood up. I raised my arms up over my head wanting to feel this way forever. I smiled and opened my eyes. The wind pushing up against me. The trees dancing along with my heart. Just being free, just being okay, just being better. Jaison continued to speed up.

"Never stop." I whispered.

"Why would I?" He whispered back.

My clothes were weighing down, soaked, but I didn't care. I sat back down on the roof hugging my knees to my chest unable to stop myself from smiling so much. I wasn't happy, Just okay. Finally okay.

"Jaison why did you guys move so far away." I asked unsure I wanted the real answer.

We were stopped at a rest stop waiting for an opportunity to come by for a snack.

"Sequoyah became so obsessed with finding her father that we traveled the entire world, ransacked the whole sodding place." He chuckled before continuing. But eventually-

"Well fuck." I mumbled after breaking my heel. I sighed and took both my pumps off. I popped my trunk, barefoot and threw them in there before taking out a red pair and placing them on.

"I look like I'm colorblind." I groaned.

"Excuse me." I heard behind me.

I whipped around to see a short old woman in front of me. She had long black hair tied loosely into a messy braid, her wrinkled face was baggy and her eyes were playful. A white pendant hung from her neck with a strange symbol attached to it. I squinted my eyes unsure of what she wanted.

"Can I help you?" I asked.

"No, but I can help you." She smiled. "I know what you're doing honey and it's not going to make you feel any better finding out the truth." She said.

"I don-" I started.

She put a hand up. "Stop looking, let him find you love." She whispered grabbing hold of my hand and squeezing it. "He will find you both when the time is right."

"And after that Sequoyah was set on staying in Russia." He finished.

"Both?" I questioned.

"Yeah Sequoyah was confused about that part but you know how spiritual she is." He rolled his eyes.

I nodded slowly. My disposable cell phone rang and I looked over the caller ID before answering it.

"Speaking of such." I smiled. Before answering. "Hello, luv." The smile on my face slowly faded. I hung up the phone and snapped it in half before throwing it out the window. "We've got a problem."

***********************JAISONS POINT OF VIEW**********

Immediately I stomped my foot on the gas exceeding 12O mph. I could hear Jermis' heart beating much faster and I could tell she was angry. I reached for her hand. She yanked her hand away from me and flashed her eyes at me in anger.

"Don't." She growled.

"You won't be thinking straight Jer I have to, you might cross some lines." I raised my voice.

"Let me do this". She whispered.

I pulled the break.

"What the bloody hell did you do that for?" She yelled.

"Let me." I answered.

"I'm too upset, it'll drain you."

I grabbed her hand and placed it between mine, she struggled and I held tight.

"STOP JAISON I DON'T WANT THIS." She screamed. Within seconds she calmed down.

"Not so bad huh?" I smiled.

"I-I just.." She trailed off and started whimpering.

I reached over and pulled her onto my lap. She dug her head into my shoulder and sobbed. Not wanting to waste time, I pulled off and started driving as fast as I could with her still in my lap. I wrapped my arm around her. "It's okay Jer." I whispered in her ear.

She looked up at me with her dark brown eyes. Her eyes were tired, and worried. Her eyes made my day. She was so damn beautiful. When she looked me in the eyes I couldn't help but smile. She smiled back. Her ass was putting a little too much pressure on my dick. It made me hard and I knew she could tell.

"Sorry." She whispered as she returned to her seat.

I didn't say anything. Its normal, I told myself. She's attractive and that's not my fault.

"Of course its not your fault." She said out loud.

I looked at her with my jaw clenched, before returning my eyes to the road. I didn't want to talk about this and we really didn't have a second to spare.

**********************JERMIS POINT OF VIEW********************

We pulled into Sequoyahs drive and I immediately jumped out yanking my teacher out of the car.

"Get out." I yelled. He was still. "For fucks sakes he still out." I yelled to Jaison.

I grabbed the water bottle tucked in the back seat and yanked the cap of pouring it all on his face. Still nothing. Something was wrong. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear before listening for his heart beat. "Jaison." I whispered.

"Whats wrong?" He answered walking towards me.

"He's dead." I heard from behind me. I whirled around fast and in front of me, stood James.
