Chapter 3
「Perhaps the garden needs to be tended」
It was not surprising that Gertrud, as the heroine, also has green fingers. She tended to the garden while I pretended to help, doing a side task of brainstorming again.
Using the tip of my umbrella, I started to draw stick figures of characters and future scenarios on soil as writing on paper seemed too risky.
On one section I drew my "Sherbet's Enemies: Avoid at all costs!" list.
Stick figure one with the monocle would be Detective Sylvester.
The main case in Season One was the Cinnamon Ball Massacre, where a lot of nobles were all killed off in a public gathering. The site was gruesome and there were no survivors. Detective Sylvester had his eyes on evidence and looked for a specific type of weapon.
I looked at my umbrella and gulped. This massacre was organized by an antagonist in the series, but not Sherbet. However, she could be working for that character.
My earliest memory in this world was a dream of being dragged by someone and we seemed to be running away...
Was that a dream or was it real?
Cinnamon City was awfully close to the location I was found unconscious some time ago.
Could that character with blue and green eyes be the one responsible for the Cinnamon Ball Massacre, or could Sherbet be the perpetrator after all? It's only a matter of time before Sylvester catches up if Sherbet was really involved.
Stick figure two would be Zachary, an inventor. He's not a wielder but he's excellent with machines. He would later create the weapon that could kill me. That's a quick no-no.
Figures three and four would be Baltimore and Spencer. One is a reserved sniper and another is an amiable reporter. They may be younger than Sylvester but they are sharp and a force to be reckoned with when they're working together. These two would later form an alliance with Sylvester.
Fan-favorites, but not in Sherbet's book.
I went on to draw five, six, seven... A lot of characters want Sherbet gone.
I sighed. There are so many death flags for me in this world!
Gertrud smiled at me. "How's your gardening going?"
"I'm currently digging a spot and then I'll be adding fertilizer so the plants... would live happily."
True to what I've said I covered my tracks with fertilizer Gertrud just handed me.
I want to live happily too... Why do I have to be Sherbet?
Should I just be a plant?
On the bright side, I have a "Sherbet's Allies: Search for them!" list.
The first stick figure was Gertrud which I put a happy face on. I looked at her gardening. She seemed to be happy while humming a good song. She was like a moving painting, while I'm here sitting, covered in all kinds of dirt.
