Chapter 1
『Perhaps I got my dream role』
Pain. Misery. An eternity of regret.
This must be my punishment for that sin I committed - a very grave sin that should send my soul to limbo forever.
However, the duration of my stay in this plane does not account for even an ounce of repentance I should suffer for what my actions have done to him.
"I am sorry."
In the darkness only have I uttered those three words repeatedly. Even though I do not have a vessel, my spirit is eager to say them. Constantly declining to vanish.
"My only wish..."
I felt myself disappearing.
"...is to see you again."
And disappear, I did.

I woke up with a start. A gush of pain suddenly swelled on all parts of my body. I tried to ease myself of the pain but the action intensified it more. I let out several cries.
With my half-opened eyes, I saw a woman distressed and giving out several orders. "Quick, I tell you, quick! Call the apothecary!"
Apothecary... Wait, I thought we were done with Season 2? Are we shooting an epilogue?
Several shouts and voices of other people penetrated the room. "The lady has woken up!"
I don't remember signing a contract though...
Steps rumbled like thunderstorms, and within a few moments I was attended to by a man with glasses.
He rapidly checked my eyes with a flashlight. "I don't believe in miracles, but indeed, they do happen. Never in my lifetime I stand witness to such a recovery."
He continued, "I have estimated at least two weeks to a month of recovery. But, heavens! I am greatly mistaken. Even an accomplished officer would've recovered fully a week at best. However, this lady did so in three days. Three days!" The man rejoiced what seems to be a medical breakthrough, his face showing a mix of happiness and disbelief.
He then faced another taller man behind him, who exerts an air of authority and sternness despite all the commotion.
"All is well, then?" he inquired.
The apothecary replied in a speedy manner, "Yes. I shall be giving a few more days of medication for the pain to subdue. For the bruises, you have to apply this ointment." He reached for bottle after bottle in his bag and gave several helps nearby specific instructions. "This one for the scratches, and for the smaller open wounds you see here," he continued, "Finally, apply this one for the stitches before re-wrapping them up."
