You and Marty sat in the passenger seat of Doc's car as he drove to the sign where you hid the DeLorean.
Marty kept glancing at you throughout the whole ride. You were still a little moody about the whole meeting your mom thing and... The hand-holding thing.
When the car came to a stop, Marty hopped out, and you followed. "There's something wrong with the starter so we hid it... Here"
You led Doc to the car which you covered in leaves and branches.
Not gonna lie, It was poorly camouflaged, but what could you use in an empty field?
You and Marty started throwing the branches off, showing Doc the car.
"After I fell off my toilet..." Doc pulled up a picture "I drew this..."
Marty held his flashlight up, shining a light onto the piece of crumpled paper. "Flux capacitor."
Or, as you called it, the flusk capacithingy...
'Good job, me' you smiled when you realised your silly mistake.
Haha, happy accident.
Marty went to open the car door. Doc moved to get a good look and his mouth hung open when Marty shone the light on the flux capacitor.
The Doc brought up his flashlight, taking a closer look at the thing. Marty stepped back to give him some room.
"It works!" The Doc laughed. "IT WORKS!" He turned and grabbed Marty by his vest "I finally invent something that works!"
That same sinking feeling you had, when Doc first mentioned leaving, came back and you slumped your shoulders.
Nothing he invented worked?
There was a chance that the time machine wouldn't even have worked?!
HE WOULD'VE GIVEN HIS LIFE FOR NOTHING?!
your breaths shortened and you leaned against the back of the car for support, clutching your head.
"You bet your ass it works...." The two turned to the car. Doc focused on the vehicle and Marty noticed your sudden panicked state.
"Somehow we've gotta sneak this back into my laboratory. We've gotta get you two home!"
Doc went to work while Marty approached you. "You uh- you feeling okay there-' whoa!" You grabbed his vest and pulled his face close to yours. "NOTHING HE INVENTED WORKED!" You whisper yelled.
"U-uh y-yeah! But the time machine did-" "Marty if the time machine didn't work, he would've died for nothing!" You shook him.
"U-uh. Y-Y-Y/N-" He stuttered, face turning red at how close you were. "Oh my god, Marty. This is serious," You growled and let him go, storming over to help Doc.
🕖 🕚 🕕 🕙 🕗 🕠
"Okay, Doc, this is it." Marty had the camera hooked up to the small television box.
His vest and your jacket hung from a hook on the wall.
The screen showed static for a moment before the tape played.
