I feel a bit bad for having not updated in so long. I haven't quite finished the last chapter. But I've rushed to edit this one to leave you with before I go on a trip to celebrate New Year's (so this might be a bit messy and I apologise for that). This will be like the second film as this is the last chapter before I set up the proper updating schedule.

Happy New Year's, everyone <33

A small explosion sounded off within the cemetery as the Doc and Marty took cover behind a gravestone. Once the smoke and falling debris subsided, the two got up and examined the aftermath.

"Whoa... I think you woke up the dead with that blast," Marty joked.

Doc, ignoring his statement, handed him an object. "Take this camera. I wanna document everything!" Doc ordered excitedly.

The trio (Your position filled in by a dog) walked through the mines with lights on their heads and flashlights in their hands. Even Copernicus had a little headlamp.

Along the way, Doc had begun to tell a story.

"This reminds me of the time I attempted to reach the centre of the earth. I've been reading my favourite author, Jules Verne. I spent weeks preparing that expedition. I didn't even get this far. Of course, I was only twelve at the time. You know, in his writings, Jules Verne had a profound effect on my life. It was when I was 11 when I first read Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. It was then when I realised that I must devote my life to science."

Marty, who most likely hadn't been listening, shone his flashlight onto a boarded up cave. "Doc, check it out. Look at this."

The Doc approached and pointed his light at one of the boards blocking the area off.

"My initials! Just like in journey to the Centre of the Earth! That means the time machine must be right through this wall!" Doc exclaimed before taking a photo.

The two went to work, using picks to tear the boards and rocks out. Once they created a hole big enough to climb through, they put down their pickaxes and shone their light into the cave.

There, was the car covered with an old sheet. Dust and cobwebs layered the top.

The Doc gasped. "It's been buried here for seventy years, two months and thirteen days. Astounding!"

"As you can see, the lightning bolt shorted out the time circuit control microchip..." Marty read the note they had found with the car while the Doc examined a doohickey through a magnifying glass. "The attached sch- schem-" He struggled to read the word out.

"Schematic," Doc helped him out, lowering the magnifying glass for a moment.

"Schematic. Schematic diagram will allow you to build a replacement unit with 1955 components, thus restoring the time machine to perfect working order."

The Doc shook his head. "Unbelievable that this little piece of junk could be such a big problem." Something had caught his eye on the chip. "No wonder this circuit failed. It says made in Japan."

Marty's head snapped in his direction. "What do you mean, Doc? All the best stuff is made in Japan."

"Unbelievable."

By dark, The two were back outside, hooking the DeLorean to the back 0f Doc's truck.

Doc pushed a lever forward, allowing his truck to lift the car in tow. "You know, when I  was a kid, I always wanted to be a cowboy!" He told Marty as he walked over to toss some rope into the back of the truck. "And now, knowing I'm going to spend my future in the past, sounds like a wonderful way to spend my retirement years.
