It's been a few weeks since the incident at the diner. Honestly it's been a few of the greatest weeks of my life. Mike began to make the rule that I had to come to every practice with him, and apparently, what Mike says, goes. Because I've been at every practice for about 6 weeks now. I even told mom about Mike and I. She was really happy about it... so that's a good thing. However, dad don't know. Dad would NEVER let Mike come back here. But that's fine, we've grown used to having a sneaking element in our relationship. Thankfully it was easier to slip around though, as by the time we got up, mom and dad were always off at work. "Come on Makayla. We have to go practice for our gig tomorrow." Mike pleaded childishly. "Oh, calm down Pritchard, let me get dressed." I sighed, holding back a chuckle as I stepped out of the bed. Mike had stayed with me last night because I wasn't feeling well. He held me all night. I walked to the closet, grabbing a snug pair of jeans and a "Green Day" shirt that Mike had made for me. I pulled up my jeans, trying to button them, but to no avail. Too tight. "God... Am I really gaining weight?" I asked myself in annoyance, looking in the mirror. "You're beautiful, baby." Mike said, coming from behind me, wrapping his arms around me. I looked at my stomach, it indeed looked true. My stomach was a bit bigger than normal. I sighed, instead reaching for a pair of stretchy sweatpants. "I have to go pee, get dressed, I'll be back." I smiled, stepping into the small bathroom connected to my room. I sat down to do my business, noticing the date on the small calendar on the wall. "December 16th." I read aloud. Something about that date was wrong. "My period." I frowned, my period was supposed to start days ago...
I sighed, pushing away the thoughts in my mind as I told myself it was just a bit late. I threw on my clothing, putting together a messy bun and stepping out of the bathroom. I found Mike sitting on my bed, already dressed in some basketball shorts and a T-shirt. Very laid back to what he normally wore. He met my eyes and gave me a smile, making me smile back before walking down the stairs with him. "You lovebirds ready to go?" Billie asked Mike and I. Making me nod before grabbing some Nike shoes, Mike grabbing his shoes and putting a jacket on me, before we head out the door. Mike made it a point to make sure I never went out in the cold without a jacket. Almost as if he was responsible for me. I looked at the thin layer of snow on the ground. Christmas is coming quick. God I hate Christmas. We soon arrived at Billie's house, his mother Ollie greeting us as we came through the door, I've become good friends with her, being here 4 times a week. "You boys go on and practice, I'll talk to Kayla." Ollie smiled at the boys, "If you need me, let me know, okay?" Mike said in my ear, making me nod before he kissed me on the cheek and went down to the basement with the guys. "That Mike is a keeper, huh?" Ollie asked me, making me chuckle. "Yeah, he's pretty great." I smiled, "Would you like a drink?" Ollie asked, her warm, comforting smile making me feel just a bit better. "A water is fine. Thank you." I smiled, she handed me a cold bottle of water, insisting I shouldn't thank her. "You seem a bit under the weather today honey, are you alright?" Ollie asked me, making me frown. All the thoughts from earlier coming back. "Ollie, can I talk to you about something?" I asked her, knowing she was the only person I could confide in about this. "Ollie, my period is late, I'm feeling sick, and I can't fix in my jeans." I frowned, knowing this was bad. Ollie looked taken aback. "How long has it been since you've had unprotected sex?" She asked. "Like... 6 weeks ago, he pulled out but I'm starting to fear it didn't work." I frowned, almost panicking. "Oh... honey. Pullout rarely works." Ollie frowned, making me panic a bit more. "Wait here." She smiled. She then walked to the small bathroom down the hall, coming back out with two Pregnancy tests. "Here. When you get home, talk to Mike. And take both, just to make sure you don't get false results." She smiled, making me tear up. "Thank you Ollie." I smiled, taking them and putting them in my pocket. "What happens if I am pregnant though? I'm too young for a kid. Mike is too young too. Not to mention, Billie and Trè are too young to be uncles!" I partially joked, making Ollie let out a lighthearted chuckle. "Oh, honey, yes, you're young. But you and Mike will love that baby more than anything." Ollie smiled. "Trust me. I know. Billie and Trè will love the baby too. Billie's always wanted to be an uncle." Ollie smirked, I felt better after this. "Thank you." I said again. "You're welcome." Ollie smiled at me. We then chatted for another hour, about small things. Embarrassing stories about Billie, The Weather, you know, just small talk. Suddenly I heard the guys stumbling up the stairs, all of them were sweaty from I assume jumping around. "Hey Makayla." Mike smiled at me, wrapping his arm around me. "Ew. Mikey. I love you but you're sweaty." I chuckled. Making Mike frown. "I love you too." He said, bringing me in tighter as Ollie smiled. Billie and Trè already at the fridge, looking for a drink. "Hey mom, is it alright if I stay at Tre's again? We have a gig tomorrow." Billie asked Ollie. "Of course, Billie." She smiled, kissing him on the cheek. I thought that was sweet, instead of being embarrassed of it, Billie took it in stride. He loved his mom and wasn't at all ashamed of it. "Okay. We'll be here to get our things tomorrow." Billie smiled, making Ollie nod. God... it's not gonna be good talking to Mike later. Let's just hope I'm not pregnant.
