"Amaria, we have to send you back to school. The elders are starting to spread rumors about you and how you lack education" my mom rambles as I stare at nothing.

"I've been to high school 10 fucking times! How uneducated can I be?" I shout, startling her.

"W-well they said you need to be up to date. With this century-"

"Okay" I cut her off mid sentence. If I didn't, then she would talk for hours. Who has that much time on their hands. Well, technically we all do since we're vampires but that's not the point.

"Really?" my mom asks, cheerfully. I roll my eyes but nod anyway. She tells me that school starts right now and that I should hurry. What?

She also mentions how the school is full of vampires and that I should fit right in. You'd think, because i'm the vampire queen everything would be easier. Not. They may respect me and bow down to me, but they're all still annoying. Doing anything to please me because they think they have to. Nothing is genuine.

Not in this godforsaken town.

"Hurry or you'll be late" she pushes me out of the house and wastes no time in shutting the door on my face.

"If you want me out of the house so bad, then just say that" I mumble, to no one in particular. Heading to school was boring, my hearing is heightened and all that was heard was stupid, chirping birds, cars driving from every direction, laughing and also shouting. I heard it all.

Finally making it to school, people stare at me and move out of the way. I guess they're the vampires that mom was talking about and of course they know my status. They look scared out of their mind when I haven't even done anything. They can all burn as far as I care. Hushed whispers sounded the halls, saying how they couldn't believe someone of my status would even step foot in a school like this.

You know, i'm thinking the exact same thing. Not because of my status but because who truly likes school? Exactly, no one. Not in this lifetime anyway. The hushed whispers get louder, annoying me to an end. Of course my response would be 'shut the fuck up or be quieter'. When you have super hearing, there's really no point in saying that. You'd still hear every single word.

A bell rings causing everyone to disperse. I stay at my locker and punch it in aggravation making a dent in it. Feeling eyes on me, I turn to see someone staring at me intently. It's a random guy who looks to be around my age. Catching him looking at me, he runs away and into a classroom. That's not much surprise to me. Everyone respects me, but they're all still afraid of me. I find it funny if anything. How are you so scared of a person that you don't even know?

My mom didn't tell me anything except I was going to school. She said nothing about my schedule or anything for that matter. Already, i'm dreading my decision. Deciding to go into a random classroom, I walk into the same one as the guy from earlier. All eyes are on me now and the teacher stops teaching just to look at me.

"Q-queen, what are you doing here?" she asks.

"What's it look like? I'm attending school" I say, being sarcastic. What's she going to do if I am? Call my mom? She's scared of me too and she's the one that birthed me.

"O-of course. Find a seat please" she continues to stutter, and points in a random direction. Okay then. Taking off my jacket, one of my tattoos show and I wrap it around my waist. The same guy from earlier is staring at me again, so I sit next to him. His eyes snap to the front, not wanting to be caught again. Too late, already seen him. I plop down into the desk next to him and cock my head, so I can get a good look at him.
