chapter seventeen

I woke up to the sound of giggling. I walked into the living room to find Layla, Lilly, and Ryan playing truth or dare.

"Truth" Layla said

"Do you feel the magnetic pull towards me that I feel towards you?" Ryan asked

"Of course, we were talking about that last night before we went to bed"

"Ryan, truth or dare?" Lilly asked.

"Truth"

"Do you know what the magnetic pull means?"

"Yes, it means she's my mate"

"Good, now how about we stop playing and eat since Brooklyns awake now"

"Sure" Layla and Ryan said at the same time.

We sat down at the table and ate biscuits and gravy. After we ate we took turns racing on Mario kart until lunch when we went to the Ravens Wing and all had cheese burgers and fries. After we ate Ryan and Layla went back to his apartment and did exactly what Layla said they wouldn't, two weeks later I found a positive pregnancy test in the bathroom garbage.

"Layla, what's this?" I asked holding up the pregnancy test.

"I was hoping you wouldn't find that, so that me and Ryan could tell you guys together. But Ryan proposed the night I went over to his house and we did it, and now I'm pregnant. I'm so sorry, I know I said I was going to wait until I was married but I just couldn't help it"

"It's fine, as long as you're happy. Wait he proposed two weeks ago and your just now telling me, that is cold"

"I'm sorry, we were hoping to plan a trip to Alabiski and get married there"

"Well as long as you wait until at least two weeks after the first of the month, because that's when me and Lilly are getting married and going on our honeymoon"

"We were thinking two months from now, so your good"

"Ok, does Ryan know about the baby?"

"I was just about to call him and have him come over so I could tell him"

"Go on and message him, I'll help you tell him"

"Thank you"

Layla messaged Ryan and he was there in less than five minutes.

"what's wrong? where's Layla? is she hurt?"

"Calm down, she's in the living room, nothings wrong"

"Good" he said as we walked into the living room.

"Ryan there's something I need to tell you," Layla said.

"What is it?"

"Your going to be a dad, surprise"

"You're pregnant? Please tell me this is a joke"

"It's the truth, this is what I wanted to tell you in person"

He kissed her and started to cry what I can only guess were tears of joy.

"I love you," Layla said.

"I love you too baby, and the only other person I love is the one inside of you"

"Alright lovebirds, that's enough we need to talk about how to let mom know that we're both getting married and that your pregnant"

"Easy, we just have the nymphs tell her"

"Wait, I thought nymphs were imaginary" Ryan said.

"No, we know two, they live in the forest in front of our castle" Layla replied.

"That's cool"

"I know right, they used to bring us chilli on our birthday and would leave clothes on our doorstep"

"You've known nymphs exist this whole time and are just now telling me"

"Yeah, sorry"

"It's fine"

I called Lilly to see how her interview went -she had an interview for a job as security for the president- she got the job and starts the week after we get back from our honeymoon.

"Lilly got the job!"
