One week later.. The night before the wedding.

(Y/N)'s POV.

I hope I made the right decision.

I wipe away my tears as I knot together the covers of my bed and tie them tightly to my door. Is this really what I want to do ? Yes (Y/N), you have no other choice.

This will probably be the last time I see my room and stand in the place I grew up in. As I'm looking around, I'm starting to doubt my decision even more, since I am already missing all the memories I made in this castle.

However, I throw my leather bag over my shoulder and take a last breath before holding tight onto the covers and escaping through the window of the big castle into the pitch black night.

For a short amount of time I feel nothing but the wind and the feeling of finally being free hit me hard. But something else hit me harder, which wasn't enjoyable at all. The ground.

I stand up, dust off my gown and look around embarrassed, hoping that nobody had seen me, but I spot something else instead. I hold up my lantern, trying to see it more clearly. Is it --- someone doing the exact same thing. I gasp and walk up closer to get a better look, just to see them crash onto the ground.

"Ouch-- there are 500 doors in this shithole and I had to jump through a window." The lowkey cute guy, that appears to be brown haired dusts himself off and looks around. His eyes stop when he looks into my direction. Fuck.

"Hey, you, what are you doing." He catches up to me, trying to make me stop walking away.

"That's none of your business. Besides, you are a man and it's like what ? 3 a.m. ? I don't talk to weird men who creep around at 3 a.m.." I try to appear confident. But seriously, what is he up to ?

"Aren't you creeping around too ? The last time I checked it's not safe for such a beautiful woman like you to roam around a castle this late." The brown haired boy, who looks about my age, starts smirking. I look at his outfit choice: A white button up shirt with black pants and brown leather boots.

"You like what you see?" He smirks again.

He is starting to become annoying, so I roll my eyes at him and walk away. I still have to leave this place without getting seen and find somewhere to stay.

"You are rude. Haven't even introduced yourself but are already running away." He tries to keep up with me.

Does he not know who I am?

"First of all why are you following me and second of all why do you care ?"

"Jeez, I'm just interested."

I turn around and hold up my lantern into his face. "Will you leave me if I tell you my name ?"

"Name, why you're here and where you're going." The boy smiles, still staring into my eyes.

"Fine, my name is---"

A loud sound of a trumpet interrupts me and I hear the sound of many horses running into our direction -- THE ROYAL GUARDS. They must've found out I sneaked out.

We both look at each other with wide eyes. He starts to smirk again, looks like it's a thing he loves to do.

"So you stole something big? Because the last time the royal guards where called up was when the queen died. What did you steal ? The princess's crown ?"

Why is he assuming that I stole something. And why would I steal my own crown.
"I didn't steal anything--" As a response he laughs.

"Yeah sure, shut up and run before they catch us." The stranger grabs my hand and runs
away with me as fast as he can, while somehow still laughing.

Why is he dragging himself into this for me? Something about him makes me trust him.

Instead of running away alone like my plan at first, I'm running away with a complete stranger, whom I just met a few minutes ago.

This is going to be an adventure.
