Chapter 9

Kryptic's eyes shot open during the night. He doubled over with a sharp intake of breath. "What just happened? ...What was that feeling?" He said to himself. Kryptic looked down to see Cherry sleeping with Wes snuggled into her arms. He smiled slightly and turned back over. Slowly standing up from the couch, Kryptic walked a few steps forward. "This doesn't feel right." He mumbled. After a few seconds, He felt something brush up against his leg. It was Wes, Yipping and barking crazily. Kryptic kneeled down with his finger over his mouth. "Shh Wes, You'll wake up Cherry." He shushed the pup with a pat to the head.

Kryptic walked over to a window. Pitch black. Nothing in sight except for darkness. He jumped from a sudden feeling. It was Cherry, Standing behind him with a hand on his shoulder. "Why-" She was interrupted by a incoming yawn. "Why so early?" Cherry asked, Taking a second to look out the window. Kryptic was about to respond, But he stopped short as she slumped against him. He quickly caught her by the shoulders as she started giving off quiet snores. "Must've fell asleep again." Kryptic whispered to himself as he carried her up the stairs and into her room. When he tried to put her down ontop her bed, He found that he couldn't. Cherry had already wrapped her arms around his torso and she looked like she wouldn't be letting go anytime soon. Kryptic sighed but couldn't help but smile. He returned and fell asleep, Sitting up with Cherry leaning against him.

Morning

"Cherry, Wake up." Kryptic said as he gently tried to pry her hands off of him. Growing a little irritated by his lack of progress, He resorted to pulling her off. She groaned tiredly as he held her shoulders. "Cherry, You know you have to go to college today." Kryptic said as he turned to the clock. "But I don't wanna." Cherry whined with a yawn. Kryptic sighed, Knowing that she could be a bit childish at times. "Think logically." He said as he walked into his room. This left Cherry to think for a little. She couldn't stand to succumb to him, But she really had no choice in the matter. Getting ready, She lazily walked down the stairs, Tripping on the last one and falling to the ground with a thud. Kryptic looked down the stairwell. "Is everything okay?" He asked. Cherry was face first on the ground, So she couldn't take in his appearance. Although, Judging by his shirt being off, He looked like he was in the middle of changing. ".....Okay. Just finish up and go." Kryptic said as he walked back into his room. Cherry slowly got up with a "Uh-huh."

Inside his room, Kryptic looked to be agitated. "I don't get her sometimes. She knows she has to get up and be ready to leave but yet she refuses." He thought for a moment before sighing. "I just need to be patient. In due time she'll understand."

His thoughts flashed back to his last encounter with Milo. A lot of things happened, Between his anger towards Milo and the threats that accompanied it. But then he thought about Cherry, About he had literally threatened to kill Milo from harming her. Although his bit of aggravation didn't dissipate, He understood her intentions.

Milo

"But master. How do you possibly expect that the two end up in the same place?" A figure said. Milo shot them a glare. "They live together you idiot. And if they do separate, I'll personally see to it." He grinned violently and brought up a camera. The feed showed Kryptic at his workplace taking notes. "Stay right there "Kry". You don't know what you're in for."

Kryptic

Kryptic drove towards home with a yawn. His head leaned forward and hit the sterling wheel as the car sounded with a beep, Startling Kryptic as he sat upright. He eventually got to the apartment, Parked, Walked inside, And sat on the all too familiar couch. "Wow. She's not home yet. I wonder what she's gotten herself into this time." He chuckled lightly as if it were a lie. Lately, Kryptic had been having trust issues with Cherry. Although he didn't really display it, He became quite impatient with her at times. In a select few scenarios, Cherry had actually thrown a snarky comment at him that threw them both off. "But she comes home as bubbly as ever." Kryptic countered himself. While he was too busy thinking, Something had welcomed itself into the house.
