Draco's perspective - June
The rest of the school year had dragged on without much excitement. Although, I had managed to save Graham Montague's life during the term, when I found him lodged in a toilet on the fourth floor, which earned me plenty of House Points. But besides being able to catch Potter with his ridiculous club and Dumbledore fleeing Hogwarts, I had little to be excited about these days. Potter had somehow managed to get Rita Skeeter to write a favourable article about him in the Prophet and it seemed like more and more people were beginning to support him. This made me nervous, the more people that believed in the Dark Lord's return, the more people would try to go after people like my parents.
Miraculously, Violet and I had been allowed to stay at Hogwarts during the Easter holiday, meaning that I could avoid my father for a while longer. I thought about what Flint said to me after I saw him in the hospital every time I saw him flying around his brand new custom matte black Firebolt. He was right, my father would eventually find out what was going on between me and Violet, and I dreaded the day that he did. As May quickly turned into June, whatever sense of calm that I had was slowly evaporating. As the end of my fifth year loomed over my head, so did the dread of going home. The last thing I wanted was to spend two months at the headquarters of the Dark Lord.
I had been so busy dwelling about my father, the Dark Lord, and exams that I had forgotten about my birthday. My birthday happened to take place at the same time as of our O.W.L examinations, making the day rather miserable. Seeing as my birthday had also fallen on the first Monday of exams, there was no time to celebrate, not that I wanted to anyways. My friends tried anyway by asking Dobby to bake us a cake and bringing it to the Slytherin Common Room on Sunday night, just before midnight. After singing Happy Birthday, I blew out the candles and everyone had to return to studying. I had to admit that the pain of studying was suddenly more tolerable with a plate of cake in front of me. Dobby always did make the best chocolate cake.
As we continued to study in the Common Room, I looked around at the fifth years. Violet, who cried when she was anxious, would let the occasional tear run down her face as she furiously scribbled notes for Herbology. Every time a tear hit the parchment and splotched her ink, she just cried more as her face contorted in frustration. Pansy was sitting by the fireplace, practicing incantations for Charms and subconsciously pulling her hair out, one strand at a time. The occasional strand would land in the fire, filling the room with the scent of burnt hair. Blaise was pacing back and forth in front of the coffee table, repeatedly transfiguring a cup into various objects as he rubbed his temples. Theo was lying on his back on the floor next to the couch, holding his Potions notes above him and muttering ingredients to himself. He would occasionally bang his head against the floor whenever he missed an ingredient. Crabbe and Goyle were sitting on the floor across from each other, desperately trying to memorize definitions for Defense Against the Dark Arts. They stuffed their faces with cake as they studied; those two had always been prone to stress eating, as if they needed any more calories added to their already disgusting diets.
Everyone had been growing increasingly unhinged in the week leading up to the O.W.Ls, myself included. The desk that I was sitting at had scratches all over the dark wood, as I had subconsciously been digging my nails into it. On top of the stress of returning home, I was determined to finish the exams at the top of my class. I had to beat Granger, it was becoming embarrassing to come second to her every year, especially considering she didn't even grow up in the wizarding world. It was absolutely baffling how a mudblood managed to be so good at magic when I had always been told by my father that people like her had inferior magic.
In the early morning of June 5th, Violet had awoken me in the best way possible; by sucking my dick. When I peeled my eyes open, I saw an empty dorm, save for Violet who was bobbing her head up and down on my cock. This was possibly the best thing I had ever witnessed. I wasn't sure how she convinced my dormmates to leave the room at 6:30 in the morning on an exam day, but it was quite possibly the best birthday gift I had ever received. That was saying a lot, considering my parents never spared a single expense when it came to gifts.
