Draco's perspective
The rest of the week had gone by far too quickly. As much as classes bored me, I didn't want the holidays to start. I didn't want to go home and I especially did not want to be away from Violet. I didn't even bother to pack a trunk to go home, I had enough clothing and toiletries at the Manor. I walked with Violet, Blaise and Pansy along the train platform. It seems that Blaise and Pansy had made-up because they had hands all over each other as they walked. They still weren't dating though, which baffled me a little.
The four of us found an empty compartment in the Slytherin car. Crabbe, Goyle, Theo and Daphne were already occupying another one. It seemed like Violet and Pansy were still ignoring Daphne, which I understood. I had barely spoken to Theo since we played truth or dare that night. I was a bit chuffed with Blaise after he had dared Theo to kiss Violet but he came to me later that night and apologized profusely. He seemed a little distraught about Pansy and I decided to forgive him, I figured I would have a hard time replacing him if we weren't friends.
Violet sighed as she slumped into the seat next to me. I took her hand in mine and rubbed circles on the back of her hand with my thumb. I knew how she felt because I felt the same. Neither of us wanted to go home. Our parents had both told us that they needed to tell us something important but refused to say what it was and the dread of finding out was weighing on us. The fact that I knew I wouldn't be able to safely communicate with her because my father made matters worse.
"Try to cheer up, you two," Pansy said sympathetically, even though she knew we wouldn't cheer up, "It's just a few weeks, you'll pull through."
"I know," Violet sighed again, "I'm just anxious as hell"
"Well you'll be seeing me plenty then," Pansy smiled at Violet. Although I would never admit it to Pansy, I was incredibly grateful for her. She knew that I wouldn't be able to properly be there for Violet and she readily stepped forward to do it.
"Yeah, mate," Blaise looked at me, "You know I'll be around."
I gave him a small smile, "Thanks, mate."
My anxiety didn't settle for the remainder of the train ride, although Blaise and Pansy tried their best to quell it. Matters only got worse as I saw King's Cross station in the distance.
"Fuck, turn the train around," I sighed as the train pulled in.
We slowly disembarked from the train and looked at each other sadly. Fuck, this was so depressing. I knew Blaise and Pansy didn't want to return home either. Pansy's parents hardly even knew she existed and Blaise had to meet his sixth step-father once he returned home.
Pansy spoke first, "I'll be seeing all of you this holiday," she announced, "I promise." She pulled Violet into a tight hug.
Blaise came up beside me and clapped his hand on my back, "Stay safe, yeah?"
I grinned at him in return, "You too, mate. Say hello to your new step-father for me."
Blaise chuckled a little, "Please, I probably won't even bother to learn his name."
Blaise moved to Violet and gave her a hug while Pansy moved towards me. She wrapped her arms around me in a hug despite how often I told her I didn't like hugging.
"Be safe, Draco." She whispered in my ear, "I'll take care of Vi, I promise."
I wrapped my arms around Pansy, "I appreciate it, Pans. Stay safe too, yeah?"
She nodded and pulled away before saying goodbye to Blaise. I looked at my Violet and my heart sank. I pulled her into my arms, "I'll be thinking of you every day," I whispered to her.
