31 October 1981, Godric's Hollow

The screams. They echo throughout the house, leaving the silence to take over. James tries to protect, to stall. But his efforts aren't good enough, as Voldemort shouts the Unforgivable Curse,

"AVADA KEDAVRA"

His voice brings a thud to the ground, James.

Voldemort strides towards the child's bedroom, his cape caressing the floor gently. He barges the door open, screams and pleas coming from Lily, who is holding Harry, the boy and....and....a girl.

A child he was not informed of had been born. He demanded that Lily move but her actions fought against that. He had only one choice left.

"AVADA KEDAVRA"

Lily's pleas silenced, leaving the two children to begin to cry, or should I say one of them.

Harry's tiny eyes couldn't handle it anymore. His eyes began to water and tears began to surface.

However the girl, so quiet and mature. He knew she had potential.

He faced the brother, Harry. He once again shouted the curse, this time with less strength in his voice.

The crib explodes, Harry and the girl left inside. And with that the man disappears, only to leave behind a cloud of thick, fog-like smoke.

10 minutes later

The crying is now muffled, barely a whisper.

"She's here," says a hoarse voice from behind them. The girl turns her head, only to see a man wearing black staring at her. She whimpers, afraid of what he will do.

"It's okay, you'll be alright," he whispers, picking her up and pulling her into his chest. The man speaks a word, one that she does not understand, and immediately forgets the events that occurred just minutes before. She closes her eyes and dreams. She dreams of sunshine and rainbows.......if only she knew.

if only she knew
