Hermione pov

I was late to the Hogwarts express. I hurried onto the train seconds before the whistle blew. As I stubble across the train glancing at the compartments looking for Ginny, who promised me a compartments  alone with her, away from Ron.
I felt so grateful to have a best friend like Ginny, i knew she was making a sacrifice to be with me away from Harry. They where all loved up after the war. I would like to say so was Ron and i but i know deep down we we're nothing alike, that connection, for me, wasn't there.

I slid open a compartment door 'Hey Gin' i said as i walked in sitting myself next to her by the window. However we were not alone.

'Sorry 'mione. The train was full when i came on.'

'No need to be sorry.' Said Harry who sat opposite me with a uneasy grin on his face.

'Hey Harry' i said as i noticed Ron who sat beside him with his arms cross giving me a dirty glare.

Ron hadn't spoken to me since the breakup, not once. It's been a week of grunts and dirty glares from him. Half the time i had enough with his whining and simply just left the room if he was in it however i could not escape this one. I had another 9 hours stuck in an small uncomfortable compartment with someone who felt like an enemy. I pulled my legs up, curling myself up glazing bc out of the window to see nothing but a fuzz of trees. My eyes gradually felt heavy and my head was lost in thoughts.

I felt a pinch in my shoulder hearing my name faze in. I opened my eyes and the moonlight was gleaming in on us.

'Hermione, wake up' said Ginny handing me a pumpkin pastie. 'you need to eat'

'Thanks'

'Been our for almost 7hours' said harry as he unwrapped a chocolate frog. 'Tired?'

'Erm... yes i guess. Haven't had much rest since-' i looked at Ron who was demolished a caldron cake. '-the transformation' Ron gave me glare with his mouth full of cake.

Before he could make a comment the sound of the compartment door slid open with the gentle buzzing that filled my head all day grew louder. Stood there in the door frame was pug face, Pansy Parkinson with Blaise Zabini to her left and ferret boy, Draco Malfoy at her right.

'Look what we've got here' Pansy sneered. 'The golden trio and their pet.' she said looking at Ginny.

'Shut up pug face' snapped Ron.

'Who you calling pug face, weasel' she replied pulling out her wand.

The buzzing was becoming more painful as they stood there snickering. I flickered my eyes to Blasie who was looking at the blonde boy next to him with concern spread across his face.
The silver blonde caught my eye as he stood there motionless starting at me. Our eyes locked. As the Icey grey eyes looked at me the buzzing in my head screamed louder. I felt as if I was staring at a stranger.

'Ew why you looking at her?' Screeched Pansy. Malfoy blinked breaking our eye contact.

'Erm...' Malfoy replied with hesitation in his voice. 'Let go.'
As they left Pansy looked back at me giving me a dirty look with brown eyes almost snakelike.

'What was that about?' Asked Ginny as she and Harry starred at me.

'I- don't know...' i said.

I Really didn't know. Why we're we so engrossed into each others eyes? The buzzing in my head had become fainter since they left. It was a strange feeling. almost like a headache but it wasn't... It felt as if there was a bubble at the back of head and as the buzzing became louder the bubble expanded.

Draco POV

As the buzzing became almost unbearable I started to feel more aware of the people around me. As Pansy opened the door there sat the golden trio and Weasley number 7. I felt uncomfortable, accept it wasn't my emotion. I gazed around the compartment and then i saw her. I couldn't help myself to look at her. I noticed her long curly bushy hair that rested on her shoulders. My eyes followed up see her clean jawline and high cheekbones. I never seen her this way before... she looked different... but she wasn't? And then our eyes met. Her chocolate brown eyes looked at me as if she'd never seen me before... as if i was a stranger.

'Ew why you looking at her!?' Pansy's voice screeched into my ear causing our eyes to lose contact with one another.

'Erm....' i didn't know what to do, i could feel everyone's eyes looking at me... accept from hers. 'Let's go.' I said quickly walking hurrying away past Pansy and Blaise.

'What was that about Draco? Oi I'm talking to you!' Pansy grabbed my arm from behind with her green tipped pedicure.

'What was what?' I asked if irritation in my voice.

'You starring at that mudblood!'

A wave of anger hit me. 'DON'T CALL HER THAT!' I had my want out pointing at Pansy. Compartment doors slid open and people had came out into the corridor from the sound of my shout.

'What you going to do? jinx me?' She said with a grin on her face. I look behind her to see Granger i the crowd of people who were staring at me waiting for something to happen. I lower my wand and could here the laugh of Pansy. 'I knew you wouldn't. She's a filthy mudblood and you know it.' The anger raged with in me.

'Flipendo!' Pansy fell back into the crowd of people taking down Blaise with her. 'Stay down there pug face' I scowled.

The train had arrived at Hogsmeade station. As i left the train people were muttering looking at me. I had avoid Pansy and Blaise since the outburst.
I waited for the finial carriage to arrive. I was the only one left... so i thought. A voice called behind me.

'Wait!' Shouted the same angelic voice from Diagon alley.

I turn around to see Granger hurrying over as her brown bushy hair bounced behind her neck. Behind her waving was a large man wearing a moleskin coat who's head and face was full of hair, the Hogwarts games keeper and magical creatures teacher, Hagrid.
The closer she came the buzzing in my head started to become louder again. Without control i held out my hand to help her onto the carriage.

'Thank you.'

'Your welcome Granger.'

She down opposite me looking out of the window. I couldn't help but to look at her. The buzzing in my head expanded, the palms of my hands started to sweat. The silence was crisp among us.

'Erm... so... what was that about... on the train? With Pansy.'  She asked making me to jump slightly, but not enough for her to notice.

'She called you a mu-mudblood.' I felt awful saying it, especially to her. Why? I tormented her for years with this word, for years! Why does it bother me now? My head to start to spin. No... it can't be?

'Why do you care?'  She asked. I looked at her hopelessly then our eyes met.

'Idon'tknow' i said quickly. But i did know... well... i think i do...

With out my control I pulled my foot along the floor to find hers, to gently pressing her calf. she looked at me surprised but she was not startled, she was calm, exited but yet a bit of lust... i could feel her emotion, emotions. With our eyes still locked the carriage met at a halt.
