Hermione pov
My head was buzzing with agony. There was silence in the carriage I could hear the sound of the carriage wheels against the stone path, the sound of the forest trees swish in the silent sky. His foot touched my calf... I did not flinch. At first I was surprised but it felt... nice... I don't know what came over me but I felt a little lustful... lust for Malfoy!? What's wrong with me? As I sat there with our eyes locked the carriage came to a halt.
The further I walked away from him the buzzing became almost disappeared. There was a slight fuzzing remaining in the bubble in the back of my head.
I entered the great hall joining Harry, Ginny and Ron at the Gryffindor table. I was one of the last few to arrive before the first years got sorted. The sorting hats song was about the war and how houses, at Hogwarts, are closer as not just four but as one. At the top table Dumbledores brother, Aberforth Dumbledore, sat in the Defence Against the Dark Arts seat.
'How long do you think he will last?' Asked Harry.
'Be lucky if it was a year' mumbled Ron.
He was right tho, despite his arrogance, he was right. Ever since our first year at Hogwarts we have had a different teacher each year. Some good some bad. 'Do you think he'll be any good?' I asked the group.
'Dunno but anything can me better than last year when we learnt about Dark arts itself and not against it.' Said Ginny as she was the year bellow us and actually got to attend Hogwarts.
Professor McGonagall stood up from the front table and stood at the golden owl stand that stood tall in-front of the top table over looking the four house tables. 'Welcome back Hogwarts students and staff, new and old. I'm proud to stand here today of the reopening of Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry. To a new sight of Hogwarts and its four houses. Before we start our feast I would like to introduce a new student for seventh year [basically eighth year] who has spent their education by homeschooling,' the door to the great hall opened and a fair boy with long greasy black hair that was tied into a bun came walking to the front of the hall and sat upon the the stool with the sorting hat. He looked rather familiar and was rather handsome. '- Melvin Severus Snape.' The hall was flooded with whispering. McGonagall called for silence and placed the hat onto of his head. Without hesitation the hat shouted 'SLYTHERIN!' The hall was full of cheer, mainly the slytherin table as they had a new student at they're table but also that he was Snape's relative.
'Snape huh?' Said Ron.
'I wonder if he's his son?' Asked Harry with curiosity in is voice.
Melvin stood up and walked to the Slytherin table. Welcomed by Parkinson and Zabini however Malfoy did not welcome him like with his friends. In fact he was arms crossed on the table leaning forwards in my direction staring at me. His Icy grey eyes looked at me without a blink.
'Why is Malfoy looking at you?' Ginny asked. I felt uncomfortable yet nervous. 'I don't know,' I replied... because I didn't... or at-least I don't think I do. The fuzzing in the back of my head became more of a buzzing. As Merlin sat down next to Malfoy he broke from is stare at me.'That was weird' whispered Ginny.
'So do we call him Snape or Merlin?' Asked Ron, who still hadn't looked at me since my arrival to the group.
'Dunno' said Harry
'I don't think we're on first name bases yet' stated Ginny. I looked towards the Slytherin table, where Malfoy sat looking at me without a blink at me again.
'He's rather handsome.' Whispered Ginny so that Harry couldn't over hear.
'Huh?' I asked
'Merlin... Snape... whatever. Him.'
I looked over to Merlin who was sat next to Malfoy, opposite Parkinson talking to her and he looked up and saw my gaze. Before I could acknowledge his face my gaze was broken by a roast chicken that appeared out of thin air on the table. The feast had begun. Ron filled his plate, eating like a pig as he talked to Harry. I pushed the roast potato's around my plate occasionally looking up towards the Slytherins to see Draco staring at me and a glance from Merlin every so often.
Draco POV
I couldn't help myself to look at her... again. Her brown busy curls rested on her shoulders. There was a faint buzzing in my head. I watched her talk to the Potter and Weasley number 6 and 7. The room fell silence for the headmistress speech. All heads turned for the sorting but I couldn't break my stare towards her. I hoped for her to notice me. For her to feel something that wasn't just the enthusiasm from the sorting.
My, what felt like, timeless gaze broke when the great hall doors opened and a face that I knew entered approaching the sorting hat. As Severus son came to join us I found my eyes back at Granger again. The greasy hair boy sat by me and Grangers eyes met mine. She looked at me briefly before her eyes looked at Melvin. A wave of jealousy hit me as I felt her emotion towards Melvin, she felt rather charmed by his appearance.
