What (superficially) wakes her up is a really loud scream that comes from far, and the fact that she can hear it from her bed convinces Soyeon that this is her punishment for not closing the door before going to sleep. It probably comes from the living room or from the stairs, but she ignores it because her mind still feels heavy and her shoulders still hurt, which means she haven't got enough rest yet. The sound of undefined noises come closer, though, but nothing happens, so she doesn't even bother opening her eyes. Until it comes.
It's so weighty that it makes the mattress sink, and so sudden that Soyeon almost jumps out of her bed at the feeling of the hot, half sweat skin pressed against her own, cold thanks to the low temperature of the air conditioner that has been on since last night. The blanket is blocked by the intruder's body and therefore it is impossible for her to pull it up and hide underneath it.
"I swear to God, Yontararak, I'm gonna kill you!"
Minnie's laughter, if someone else was hearing it, would be called fake for the strength in her throat and the urge in the movements of her hands, but it is just the result of her truthful reaction.
"Well, I called you twice and had no answer, don't blame me if you made me take up on a drastic solution," she says, laughing a bit more to fade the humor away.
Soyeon groans, presses her hands against her own face and sighs. Then, she moves her legs and arms and starts a lazy fight with the intruder.
"What are you doing?" The Thai girl mocks.
"I'm trying to get you the fuck out of my bed."
"You're too weak and way too small for that, Soyeon. And I'm not even talking about your height!"
"Get out!"
Instead, Minnie opens her arms and hugs the tiny body, feeling her resist it for a silly tantrum at first, but slowly accepting the affection after realizing how nice Minnie feels and smells (all that perfume is for Miyeon, for sure).
Minnie smirks. "You're welcome."
"Do not."
"Your father has been cleaning the entire house since he woke up," she comments. "I guess the freaking out thing runs in the family."
"You have no idea."
"I helped him by getting everything ready in the backyard. It's all looking really nice now. I put some flowers there and rented a couple chairs and tables."
Oh, yes. The barbecue.
Byeonghwa had the barbecue scheduled since Soojin and Shuhua's wedding night and his intent is to introduce his girlfriend to his children; to try and get the two parts of his life to co-work and everything. It must be kept a secret or it'll cause a problem, but Soyeon saw a picture of the woman in her father's phone (with his permission) and heard her voice through a phone call, so she's very prepared for what awaits the Jeon family this early afternoon.
If she's honest, Soyeon feels a bit ashamed after hearing her friend say that she helped her father, and not Soyeon herself. But in her defense, Byeonghwa didn't say a word about needing help — this wasn't even supposed to be something big, just an ordinary meal with the family. Plus, she worked until six and a half in the morning and was in desperate need of some sleep... She actually still is.
Nevertheless, the rapper frowns. "You rented chairs? Are they even getting here in time?"
"They're already here, Soyeon."
"Wait, what time is it?!"
"It's," she raises her hand just enough to get a sight of her wristwatch. "Twenty past noon."
