Up on the tour

When she finishes her speech, she takes a deep breath and allows her shoulders to fall down — she hadn't even noticed she was this tense. Again, how did they get to this subject? Did she mention Yuqi as in 'my girlfriend' in a phrase or did the radio host, Julien Scott, ask her about her love life? She can't remember for sure, but what is done is done. The world now knows that Jeon Soyeon has a girlfriend, and that they met at her cousin's wedding.

That is all people will know, though, for the moment. Until Yuqi and she have a very serious conversation about the consequences of the exposure in their private lives and about public knowledge and limits. But that will only happen a couple months from now since the producer's schedule is all booked up.

"And that was Jeon Soyeon, everyone, award winner and owner of a brilliant young mind. She'll make the last concert in the UK tomorrow night, so stay tuned and keep a close eye on her," Julien says, still grinning at the leaked information he was not expecting to get in his show.

As soon as the lights at the top of the door are shining red, meaning they are not live anymore, a song starts to play against Soyeon's senses and she tries to hold a grimace while putting the ear pads back around her head. It's some hit by a boy group that got famous God knows how and even the intro sounds torturing. She doesn't quite know when people started to not care for music quality, but it's obvious that finding poetry within a song isn't a priority anymore. It's all about looks nowadays, and dates, and who's friends with whom, and who is it that you're wearing. It makes her sad.

"Soyeon?" They call.

It's her assistant, Song Victoria — because Minnie finally got Soyeon to get one. She is standing from the door and holding it open with her body. She's taller than the rapper, has long, dark hair, has a brilliant poker face and is not only Chinese, but was also highly recommended by all the people she has worked with in her former jobs. Their working methods match.

"We gotta move," Victoria says, and stays where she is, clipboard against her chest and the transmitter pieces in her ears and waist — the driver is at the other end, by the way —, until Soyeon gets up and walks forward while waving the radio crew goodbye.

They get inside the car in a rush, more paparazzis than fans causing the fuss outside, and the first thing Victoria does, having learned enough, is give Soyeon her phone with the call button already pressed.

I'm drunk, — Yuqi says as soon as she picks up.

I can see that, — Soyeon smiles, then her nose wrinkles when she corrects herself. — Hear that.

We were celebrating. —

Were you with your friends?

Yes. Most of them. Yukhei went home not even knowing his own name.

And where are you now?

I'm trying to get inside my apartment, — a loud nosy follows and Soyeon has never wanted to see her girlfriend more. But Yuqi clicks her tongue and closes the door. — Did it.

Congrats.

Hey! Stop being an ass with a drunk.

Laughing, Soyeon thinks about the interview and her lips form a gracious smile.

I did something today, — she says.

Tell me!

I talked about us on the radio.
