Close Your Eyes Pt 2

Maya

It took Maya about an hour and a half to get ready. Her hair was done in a half up, half down manner. Two small braids led into a bun resting on the crown of her head. The rest of her hair was curled and hanging alongside her back. She had a light layer of makeup, which was relieving to Maya, because she knew she was going to cry this afternoon at least once. The makeup did a great job of highlighting Maya's natural beauty and covered up any inconsistencies in her skin. Once her hair and makeup was finished, she walked over to the mannequin that had her suit on, and she took a deep breath in. She whispers to herself as she begins undressing out of her clothes, "Carina is my forever." Once the suit was on and adjusted, she walked up to the mirror and her eyes got a little teared up. She really is doing this, she is marrying the love of her life. She thought back to her, Andy, and Vic's conversation on Andy's porch all those years ago.

" Monogamy is for the weak, or very dedicated."

But Maya wasn't weak for choosing Carina, she makes her the strongest that she can be. She makes her the best possible person she can be, and Maya thanked God everyday that Carina chose her over everyone else. It was 1:30pm, and everything was just about ready to go. Andy and Vic were in their bridesmaids dresses, hair and makeup all done. Maya chose Travis and her brother to be her 'groomsmen.' Carina and Maya decided together that they would each have two bridesmaids, and two 'groomsmen.'There was a knock at the door and it was Travis and her brother in their black dress pants, and navy blue shirts. They got to wear lavender bow ties, and Maya was slightly jealous.

T: " Are you ladies about ready? Guests are starting to arrive."

V: "We are all ready. Maya are you ready?"

Maya's heart was beating faster, it was almost time. " Yeah I'm ready, let me check my phone real quick"

She pulled out her phone and she saw she had a missed message from Carina, she opened it. It said 'I love you <3' This melted Maya's heart, she quickly typed in ' I just saw this, I love you so much. I can't wait for us to get to start our forever together'

It was 1:45 and Maya had Andy pin on her boutonniere, and do a final check to make sure everything was perfect.

A: "You look perfect Maya, I am so happy for you"

M: " I am too" and with that, they began to descend the stair to head to the foyer before heading outside.

Carina

The makeup and hair took longer than Carina would have wanted, her nerves were starting to get the best of her as she had to sit still for over an hour. Once her makeup was finished, they started working on her hair. They first straightened her hair to be sure of an even consistency. Then they began taking small bundles of hair and braiding them together. Once there were a couple of braided strands, next they took a portion from the top of her head and began to loosely braid in the smaller strands they had been working on earlier. Then the remaining strands of hair, they lightly curled the hair to create small waves. Once that was finished, it was time for her dress to be put on. At first, she was worried about messing up her hair and makeup, but with the help of the crew of ladies, they successfully were able to get the dress on. Carina decided to have Amelia as one of her bridesmaids and Miranda as the other. They wore simple strapless lavender dresses, with gold lace long the top of the dress. For her 'groomsmen,' Carina decided on her brother Andrew, and Ben. As the last few details were coming together, it was time for Carina to put her corsage on. When she saw it, Carina instantly fell in love. It was of white roses, mixed with some lavender and wheat blades, tied together with a gold lace ribbon. As she was getting into the limousine that was waiting outside the lobby, she felt her phone buzz. It was a text from Maya. She opened her phone and read the message, 'I just saw this, I love you so much. I can't wait for us to get to start our forever together.' Carina teared up a little bit as they drove to the vineyard. It was about a 10 minute drive to the vineyard and they were right on schedule. Carina was so excited, she has been waiting for this for so long.

They pulled up for the vineyard at 1:45pm. She was instructed to enter through the side door, in case Maya was in the lobby. She could see the people gathering in their seats as the ceremony was about to start. Carina's heart was berating so fast. It was almost time. All she did was concentrate on her breathing. As slow as time seemed to be moving, before she knew it it was time to walk. Andrea walked through the door and motioned for Carina to link arms with him. She took a step, stopped and had to take a deep breath.

Then resumed walking up to her little brother.
