"Masters." Jinn and his Padawan bow to all of us in the room.
"Hello Master Jinn and Padawan Kenobi. We are here to discuss an assignment we believe you are fit to accomplish." Mace Windu begins. "I will let our newest council members inform you of your mission." He turns to myself and Ciren, who sits across from me.
"Of course." I respond. "Master Jinn and Padawan Kenobi. The queen of Naboo, Padme Amidala, is in grave danger from the Trade Federation. We need you to go and protect her and make peace with Viceroy Nute Gunray."
"Because of the danger, you will need to be on high alert for any assassins that may come your way. Protect the queen at all costs. Make a deal with Gunray. That is your mission." Ciren finishes." Ciren finishes.
"Of course Masters." Jinn bows respectfully but in his eyes I see something that resembles resentment. "When will we be leaving?"
"Today. It is of upmost importance. Master Jinn, there will be many things that will come your way. Make your decisions wisely. Your instinct is to act on impulse. Be careful to not let your emotions rule you." I turn towards Obi Wan. "Padawan Kenobi. You will face several challenges, some you will be able to solve, and others you will not. Be prepared." I finish giving my advice, based off of the dreams I've had recently. "Remember, Gunray is shifty. Don't let him fool you."
"Advice taken, Master Shano." I smile at Obi-Wan but make a mental note to speak with Master Yoda about Master Jinn.
"The council has discussed sending Master Shano with you. Instead, we have decided to send no one with you. You will accomplish this on your own." Luminara Unduli adds. I have to smile at her wisdom, and I thank whoever controls The Force that Hren has her as a master. "You may leave."
"Masters." The two, Master and student, leave the chamber.
"Are you sure they can do it alone? I sense Master Jinn is not a normal Jedi."
"Normal, he is not. Trained by Dooku, he was."
"Dooku?"
"My former Padawan." I raise an eyebrow but decide not to push the issue further.
"Do we have any more subjects we wish to speak of?" Ciren breaks the awkward silence.
"I don't believe so. For now, we need you two to concentrate on helping your friends pass the Jedi tests."
"We also need to keep communications wide open with Kenobi and Jinn." I chime in. "They will need a home base."
"A 'home base?' What is that?" Luminara looks confused, and Ciren snorts under his breath.
"It's an earth term. It means a place where they can communicate back to in case things go wrong."
"Ah, I see." For a moment, everyone looks serious, but then laughter echoes around the room. "Well...meeting adjourned." We all bow to each other and leave the council chambers.
"So? What do you think?" Ciren asks as we head towards our rooms.
"I don't know. I'm sure it was the right decision to send the two of them. But Master Jinn was taught by Yoda's "former Padawan." Usually, that isn't good."
"Agreed, but maybe you're reading too far into this."
"Maybe." We fall into a comfortable silence. "I'm hungry. Want to round up the gang and get lunch together?"
