Resisting The Alpha (ON HOLD)

Chapter 7

He was their Alpha too!? Oh great!  

I got up from the ground and patted away all the dirt off my body. "You must be Anastasia." The way he said my name sent shivers down my spine in waves. I tried my best to look anywhere else other than his eyes. I knew if I were to look into them I'd be unable to speak. But I need to talk to him to join their pack. Just Great.  

"Yes sir." I said quietly still avoiding his gaze. "You don't need to call me sir" He chuckled. his chuckle was so deep. It was addictive, I could listen to it on repeat all day. Shut up Ana! You're supposed to be ignoring all the mate attraction signs! I soon shook off the thought. "My names Aiden." he spoke as he extended his hand for me to shake it. I shook his hand and only took a quick glance at him. Amayah coughed awkwardly. I forgot she was just standing there. I turned to her and try to tell her that Aiden is my mate. I tried mouthing to her but she had no idea what I was saying. Then I used my left hands index finger then tapped my right hand then started to flutter my fingers. Trying my best to show a representation of the sparks that you feel at the touch of your mate. Her eyes grew wide after she finally realized what I was saying. "HE'S YOUR MATE!? THE ONE YOU'RE TRYING TO IGNORE!? OH MY GOD!" She yelled. Oh why Amayah why! I sent her a death glare. Then she slapped her hand over her mouth after she realized that she yelled that out loud. I looked at Aiden who had his eyebrows furrowed and a confused look painted onto his face. "You're ignoring me ?" he asked directly at me. "I-I um" I was at a lost for words. How can I explain why I am ignoring him ? I bit my lips nervously. "Sorry" I mumbled. His face softened up after I apolagized.  

An awkward silence swam around us. I didn't know what to say and I'm guessing neither did he. "I guess we have to talk about you joining the pack..." He said whilst staring at the ground. "I guess so.." I said barely above a whisper. "I guess I'll leave you two to it." Amayah said in a peppy tone. I stared at her with pleading eyes to not go. She waved at me with a huge grin upon her face then ran off. I will get back at her for this. "Follow me, the pack house isn't too far from here so we can just walk it there so we can talk." He said in an awkward tone. I nodded as he started walking and I followed him. "So why are you ignoring me?" He asked. I knew that we'd end up talking about this. I instantly became nervous. "I-I don't know" I managed to stutter out. "You don't know ?" He asked with a hint of annoyance in his tone. "It's just.. I don't think I am ready for a mate" I was sort of lying. Yes I wasn't ready for a mate, I doubt I ever will be. But that wasn't the reason why I was ignoring him. "Oh.." was all he said. I could tell he was hurt by the expression on his face. My wolf whined at the fact that I was the cause of his pain. "I-I'm sorry, it's nothing against you I promise." I said in attempt to to cheer him up by a tiny bit. Then the rest of the walk fell slient again.

Aidens POV:

She wasn't ready for a mate? I couldn't help but feel depressed by this. I know I wasn't all up for finding my mate. Ever since High School I came to the conclusion that I didn't want to find my mate at all. But ever since I met Anastasia. I just can't explain it but I want to be with her. and her alone. no one else. But she wasn't ready for me? I thought when you find your mate it's by fate and you'll both be ready when you find eachother. My wolf howled at the feeling of pain and rejection.

I stayed quiet throughout the rest of the walk to the pack house. I saw ffrom the corner of my eye that she would take a few quick glances at me then go back to looking at the ground. I couldn't help but do the same. She was beautiful. Now that I've seen her up close I've found that she's perfect. Perfect for me.  

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out and saw it was a text from Trent.
